It's 100% impossible to jump any teeth doing a rotor swap, chain tensioner fitted, don't worry, just unbolt rotor & either file slot 1mm rearwards or stump up some cash for another advancer rotor.
Any idea if these measurements you gave to file the rotor to will also apply to an 07 fz6s? Part numbers for the rotors aren't the same but they look identical..
I’m biting he bullet and doing this mod since I have to replace that gasket anyways..where can I find another trigger so I can reserve my stock one..? Tried searching but I don’t know what it’s exactly called. Forgive me lol also, the part number you listed, is that for the gasket/seal or the rotor itself? Thanks!
I remember reading about this mod. What's the part number on the rotary so I can buy a new one and shave that so I know I got it right before opening the bike up and replacing?
It’s a great cheap mod. It noticeably wakes the bike up in 1st and 2nd mainly but I can also feel a bit of a gain in 3rd too. I also have a 15T front sprocket, slip on exhaust, fuel controller and am running a sport map. With all of these mods, it’s a different bike. Still not going to smoke an R6 but definitely makes the bike more enjoyable to ride. I’ve done everything for about $650.
There is a video if that mod here in youtube. I though that the restriction was for european bikes for riders with A2 license. Do all bikes come with that?
It doesn't matter if anything turns clockwise or counter-clockwise as no mechanical timing is loose. You can do this simply by getting the bike in gear and press on the brake pedal.
8 months later now and bike continues to run great! Just wanted to update those interested.

cam chain pallet on the left side seems different than Fz6. Is it an upgraded pallet against break down?
It's not the same as a FZ6. It's just the factory FZ6R set up. I hope that is helpful.
It does not need to mark the chain it always follow the stator because there is a notch that you can fit that stator it did not loose the timing.
Just now seeing this. I’ve got an 04 fz6. Applicable?
It is the same. Not sure if we will get 10 whp though
how about for 4 degree..do you have the measurement?all i know is the stock is 5 degree..
What's the thickness in mm if you advance it to °4 degrees?
I was wondering the same thing I think it's 4mm

Yamaha part number is 20S-81673-00-00
Any problems with the engine running hot after you advanced the timing?
No problems at all. Thing just runs great man.
Top speed now?
How's the power delivery now?

Anybody got a video on how to file it ?🤔
I just took a standard hand held automotive file and filed it down.
I mean, find it not file it
@@derrick.l1870 click this link. You want part # 23. www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/50046bb9f8700209bc796aa7/electrical-1
@zacg9758 yeah OK and thanks, but I got it
Or just buy a 4 degree timing rotor haha way easier than shaving the oem part
When my motor heat does not spark
Where can I locate a restriction on fz6
At the end of the two throttle cables closest to the engine

A simple impact gun does it..no need all this janky tools.
I've always thought talk was cheap. Where's your video?
@@zacg9758 im confused, how does an impact stop the rotor from turning counter-clockwise?
@@gabrielibarra5551 it doesn't. What are you talking about again?
