The media isn't talking about it nor the police brutality we're experiencing right now because all of our media is owned by the government except N1(CNN). People are getting beaten up for just walking by near the protest, even if they're not protesting themselves, and the protestants are violently beaten, arrested and sprayed with tear gas, some of which expired three years ago!!
I still have a gut feeling that Sherry was meant to win the entire season with Gigi being runner up. If Rupaul wanted a big girl to win so bad, Widow was right there.
That was definitely the original intent. They had to switch up everything because they planned to have her as the winner until the info came out. This season did not have the best luck.
She wasn’t exactly a big girl. More a bigger girl, since there are so many slim girls cast. But she fitted the campy queen stereotype, a type RuPaul really likes, so she might have won. We really haven’t had a campy winner since Jinkx

And during a lip sync for the crown, she’d win the first round against anyone other than Jaida even if she didn’t do the best(similar to Aquaria vs Eureka)
What really makes a good season of drag race is the audience being able to see all the favoritism, BS, and occasional casting of a predator, and still think that this is a great season, and I really think season 12 is like that

This is probably one of my favorite and most fair seasons. I believe everyone went home when their time was up. I do think that the top 2 which of course in terms of the race (not counting fan favorite) would be Gigi and Jaida and if we did it based on lip sync for the crown Jaida wins but I do believe if it were on the OG format Gigi would've won the season but I adore both of them and when it came down to it I was pleased if either won
I agree, and also let me say that the favouritism is less obnoxious than what we saw in other seasons, it looks a lot more like Ru actually loved the queens instead of "let's do it for the sake of drama". And also thank God for once we didn't got the usual fight of "pretty" vs "weird" because it really got my nerves and made me uncomfortable during season 11 (expecially) so much that at first I didn't want to watch season 12
It's mostly because of the queens. The queens made the season phenomenal, even with everything that happened inside and outside the show. The cast was stellar.
Ginger would’ve never won. She was the clear villain of the season. She also was not unique. She was just good at acting. Boring pageant queen that thought her size was going to get her the crown.

Widow being in the top 4 makes absolute sense in my fantasy. Arguably if the season wasn’t favored for crystal Gigi Jackie and sherry widow could’ve had 2+ wins and being a contender for the crown
Sherry being favored took out heidi and widow from their rightful wins, widow should have won episode five, and gigi should have been in the bottom with jackie in the political challenge, thank you very much
You forgot jaida. She was hella favored during the makeover, which crystal was robbed a win from. During the political challenge as well, sherry got criticized for playing the old lady and relying on it, but jaida relied on the look over there gag, which got old quickly. Don’t forget the finale, too.

She's not the best actress but she gave us diversity. And also Crystal make up was shocking but Jaida giving a plastic surgery to her sister was probably the most precise and technical make over we had ever seen
I think also maybe Jaida would've done better in the one woman show challenge without Sherrie going on for 17 minutes before her, I don't know if this would've changed much tho, she was already nervous for going last and the judges didn't seem to like her concept much.
@@rometais7178 yeah that was why I was unsure, I think Jaida wouldn't have been in the bottom if Sherrie had been stopped at the 5 minute mark and couldn't have developed her bit, that would probably had put Sherrie in the bottom instead of Jaida or Heidi, but they probably would've put Heidi cause they at least seemed to enjoy Jaida making fun of herself for not being funny.
i still think they were way harder on jackie than they should have been. several times her runway look was way better than the critique (esp the final one). also, she should have won the one woman show challenge. it actually followed the rules of creating a show you could actually perform a full version of. they basically kept her around, used her for her story and then kicked her to the curb for the finale.

The only thing that sucks about this turnout is we don’t get that Black Wedding runway where Crystal’s and Jan’s looks were objectively some of the best looks of the entire season.
I believe that the intended final 2 were going to be Gigi vs. Sh*rry, I then belive that the producers would strategically pick a final song that favours Sh*rry to justify crowning her as the first big girl winner. That, or they were going to be a semi-final pair, again with a song that favours Sh*rry, to have her go against Jaida in the finale and Jaida wins or something like that.
I heard that originally there was going to be a sh*rry vs Gigi storyline where Gigi was going to be a villain so it would make sense that it would be a Gigi vs sh*rry lip sync with sh*rry winning cause RuPaul has been pushing a big queen winner since season 10 (eureka, silky and now sh*rry)

I think the difference between Jackie's repetitive joke in the political challenge and Crystals was that they actually laughed at Crystal. Jackie was beating a very dead horse whereas Crystal was going with what she knows works based on Ru's constant prompting and the judges responses

TBH they would do Crystal vs Widow because they are friends or knew eachother before the race. And also Gigi vs Jaida is what people would want too see so I'm presuming that's what they'd do.
I try not to be a bitter person and I do like Gigi, but part of me was kind of happy that she didn’t win. In my eyes there always was an aura of arrogance and thinking she’s entitled to things and that she cannot lose
imo I feel like Aiden’s team could’ve been top because if you rewatch the actual episode, Aiden suggested that they should be more “less synced” with their performance. I also found it funny when they showed them practicing and Aiden was super late, but then obviously Sherry Predator and Brita got mad at her for no reason.. 😒 I mean Aiden was the only one who got how she could make the performance funnier, sherry and brita couldn’t pick up. I feel like with Jan being there, maybe she’ll understand Aiden and have the same humor, thus preventing brita from “correcting” Aiden.

Since it's the Choices 2020 challenge over the Droop one then the judge would not have been Chaka Khan so I think it would have been Firework for the lipsync which would perfectly suit Jan. Although Widow crushed that lipsync too so I'm not sure if it would make a difference. But I think it could have gone either way.
I get everything you said about gigi but the only thing is that the story had previous a video saying that "queer people who can show their talent in television had a privilege" bc the tv, hollywood and other still doesn't accept lgbt people.
Wouldn’t you say that Jan having an early win + top2 placement would spawn further favouritism, like if she became an early front runner(because of the exclusion of sherry), they may have given a double win for Madonna, and saved her from lipsyncing like what they did for Gigi and sherry.

honestly if drag race was looking to boost a bigger queen to the top four to possibly crown, widow was a way better pick. not that she needed a “boost”, but i’m assuming she would get a similar trajectory to 🍒. sure with 🍒🥧 they wanted a campy and big girl to make it far but widow was shown to be strong competition with high energy performances. they’ve wanted a big girl winner since the conflama in season 7, so why not widow? she was the winner of her premiere episode!! it sucks that she wasn’t seen on the same level as🍒🥧 in the eyes of the producers. her being in the top 4 makes sense with my jantasy. also, go sign the petition

Imo they would’ve sent Jackie home in Choices. She was in the bottom already and Jan has 2 challenge wins in this scenario. Jan would’ve been safe in the makeover episode, with Gigi in the bottom two with the double shantay here. Jan vs Heidi may have happened for stand up comedy, with Jan staying. Jan would’ve been high/win the final competitive episode over Gigi with Widow vs Crystal ending with Crystal being kicked because track record, leaving Jaida, Gigi, Jan and Widow in top 4. Jan and Widow were in the bottom more than once with Jaida winning, and Heidi or Crystal as congieniality.
"Lets remove the predator" 😂😂😂 Gigi was picked to win alongside catfish pie and Crystal method. Jaida worked hard and was a favourite of mine. Jan and Sakura were my favourites but it irked me that she was constantly "safe"... Im thinking about making a video where what if s12 had no favoritism. I think without favoritism Jaida would’ve still won but it would be more obvious. I think that Widow would’ve been in the finale too and I think that Rock M or Brita would’ve made it farther without the Aiden vs Brita plot being more forced.
I think it's understandable for Jan to not listen to critiques that much because she legit got critiqued three times on the whole season. However I may be slightly biased because she went to my brothers college.

14:50 I would argue that there is actually possibility that Gigi would have won against Widow. We know that she could do acrobatics, but stupidly didn't try outperform Widow in first episode. With all the stakes of her getting the crown, favouritism and track record I think she would double shantay'd at worst. I don't think she would win any time against Jaida though. It would most definitely be another Yvie vs Brooke situation. Also if they kept original format, I don't think that Crystal would be kept after the bird song, unless Widow would mess up a lot. I think the difference between Jackie's repetitive joke in the political challenge and Crystals was that they actually laughed at Crystal. Jackie was beating a very dead horse whereas Crystal was going with what she knows works based on Ru's constant prompting and the judges responses

imo I feel like Aiden’s team could’ve been top because if you rewatch the actual episode, Aiden suggested
that they should be more “less synced” with their performance. I also found it funny when they showed them practicing and Aiden was super late, but then obviously Sherry Predator and Brita got mad at her for no reason.. 😒 I mean Aiden was the only one who got how she could make the performance funnier, sherry and brita couldn’t pick up. I feel like with Jan being there, maybe she’ll understand Aiden and have the same humor, thus preventing brita from “correcting” Aiden.

Since it's the Choices 2020 challenge over the Droop one then the judge would not have been Chaka Khan so I think it would have been Firework for the lipsync which would perfectly suit Jan. Although Widow crushed that lipsync too so I'm not sure if it would make a difference. But I think it could have gone either way.

honestly if drag race was looking to boost a bigger queen to the top four to possibly crown, widow was a way better pick. not that she needed a “boost”, but i’m assuming she would get a similar trajectory to 🍒. sure with 🍒🥧 they wanted a campy and big girl to make it far but widow was shown to be strong competition with high energy performances. they’ve wanted a big girl winner since the conflama in season 7, so why not widow? she was the winner of her premiere episode!! it sucks that she wasn’t seen on the same level as🍒🥧 in the eyes of the producers. her being in the top 4 makes sense with my jantasy.

Imo they would’ve sent Jackie home in Choices. She was in the bottom already and Jan has 2 challenge wins in this scenario.
Jan would’ve been safe in the makeover episode, with Gigi in the bottom two with the double shantay here.
Jan vs Heidi may have happened for stand up comedy, with Jan staying.
Jan would’ve been high/win the final

jaida was not favorited by the judges, but she proved herself purely with her talent and snatched the win she deserved. we love to see it
i could totally see there being a double shantay the week of the political challenge in this scenario, given that jan had won a challenge and been in the top two, statistically doing better than jackie and probably great in the lip sync to firework (a very pop song which is her style)

14:50 I would argue that there is actually possibility that Gigi would have won against Widow. We know that she could do acrobatics, but stupidly didn't try outperform Widow in first episode. With all the stakes of her getting the crown, favouritism and track record I think she would double shantay'd at worst. I don't think she would win any time against Jaida though. It would most definitely be another Yvie vs Brooke situation. Also if they kept original format, I don't think that Crystal would be kept after the bird song, unless Widow would mess up a lot. Otherwise she maybe would be left after the mouth lipsync?
