Absolutely. There's a reason I cancelled my cable subscription years ago and now almost exclusively watch quality content-creators like this. This has a true sense of purpose to it (the same cannot be said of most TV shows).

      There's a reason I don't watch TV anymore.
      Not even the News.
      It is all bs
Thus is real honest hard working people doing real stuff without the trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
Cody has 13 years of video's.
Go binge watch them and do Catchup.
You'll soon fling your cable TV in the bin.

Total agree with you if you borrow it it comes back better then new. If it has a motor and oil look black change it. Full tank of gas. And my rule is if I have to borrow it twice then maybe I should own that tool. If practical that is.

IN my trade i apply the same pholisophy. The tool goes back cleaned, oiled and ON the box, not in it so I am not rooting through their stuff. It's not your box, stay out of it. AND, if I borrow three times, I buy it. Because it also courteous to not have to go bakc a dozen times to keep using their tool. That's taking advantage of their generosity.

As someone who watches your videos to learn, I’m always pleased by your slow and steady-methodical is a good word-pace and approach to the work. This isn’t a lego set, and if you haven’t been through it a dozen times, building something like this beautiful bench is a task with steps that you wouldn’t know you didn’t know if you hadn’t seen them done well and at a pace where you can see each part of the work clearly.

Say hey Wranglerstar. I cannot begin to thank you enough for such exsquisite detail you go through in making your projects so beautiful and detailed. You have given me a great deal of inspiration from this most recent project. I will attempt to make myself a workbench similar to yours. I have been blessed from one of my brothers whom is truley the most gifted with his hands and eyes. I have worked with him and learned how to use the great tools I have.
    Can't wait to get started.
BTW, you hit it out the park by suggesting folks to clean up borrowed tools. I have loaned out a chainsaw and lawn tractor...costs me hundreds to fix or replace them.
    Stay Safe, Bee Well.

I have 3 of his bench vises. They out lasted him but every time I use one I’m always thinking of him. I got one that I remember playing with since I was about 6-7 years old and I’m 35 now... It not always about the work you do its also a big thing when you tell stories or really get down to details with stuff, it takes time and thats how it should be! There will always be haters and "i could do so much better" guys but its just empty words. None of them is sacrificing so much time and effort as you do making these videos! I loved your advice about returning a borrowed tool in better condition than when you got it. My father taught me the same lesson. I remember a neighbor borrowed another neighbor's lawn mower that had a brand new blade and returned it with an empty tank after a long time after having ruined the blade. My dad taught me then the lesson and suggested it should have been returned with a sharpened blade and a full tank of fuel.

A guy like myself knows that taking your time will always bring more benefit than being in a rush, but hey what does an East Coast guy like myself know? LoL, I'm glad I can watch a West Coast guy at work and learn the right way to do things! Loving the series, and the craftsmanship! Good job, Cody!

When my dad was redoing his kitchen cabinets, he was sanding by hand. I loaned him my orbital sander and he kept it... Giving me a brand new one. 👍🏻

just finished my workbench/reloading bench, the top is inspired by you and it turned out great. laminating 2x's also gave me a good opportunity to try some mortise and tenon joins fairly easily. Thanks for making these videos!

I took the "griping" as just a little good natured poking. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and am looking forward to the mounting of tools. It's always fun to me to watch someone who completes a project and you can tell they are proud of the job they've done.

I really appreciate your thinking on the tool choice. Very encouraging!
Treating a loaned tool or any other objects with respect and also repairing it cleaning it..It gives me the "fizz" every time. Just seeing the guys reaction and appreciation is so satisfying. Great advise, try it out everyone. Applies to many other aspects of life to.
PS: Glad that you secured the hairpiece with your hearing protection while dusting yourself off!
Greetings from Germany (sorry for the choppy English)

I enjoyed the series a lot. I learned a bunch. I'm from the East Coast 😄and I had no problem with the series broken up. Gave me something to look forward to. Love the channel. I also REALLY enjoyed your approach from the point of view from someone just starting out and using budget friendly tools and materials.

Love the series Cody! I just bought a 25yo house on 1/3 acre in south Texas and has a 500 square foot shop out back unfinished inside. I will be building a work bench and storage out there. First though, the house needs popcorn celling gone, paint, flooring, kitchen and bathroom update so I’m sure my shop will be last. All good though, keep up the good work, God Bless.

It's beautiful. Definitely an heirloom workbench. The stories it will have in the following years/decades will be what it's all about.

I was always taught and practiced the process of sealing all finished wood products on all sides to prevent warping. This prevents a variation of moisture levels on opposite sides of the board as it continues to breath and move. Even more advisable when building from softwood lumber. Your caution on the end-grain is a good one. Since your building an aireloom that may still be serving it's purpose a hundred years from now, sealing the underside of the bench would be good insurance.

    I heard that!
I got nothing to do and all day to do it!
Most folks don’t realize how long it takes to get things done properly. I can’t remember when everything went exactly as planned, that’s why one has to know how to mitigate any given situation, problem, and/or design change that can happen/occur. I feel like we are hanging out during you’re video’s.
I’m the friend who doesn’t actually help just relaxes in your favorite chair and drinks your beverages, gives words of encouragement/discouragement, a inappropriate joke or two, but when not around you can’t figure out why you miss that person.
    Shake-N-Bake.
    Nice workbench.....it’s turning out great.

I have learnt a lot from this series and now feel confident to build a similar table myself, so thank you. I don't have a belt sander, jointer or a planner. I have plunge router and a planning flt bit. I'm` going to build a sled for the router and try my unprofessional hand at leveling my table surface.

Wranglerstar, Friend I am retired and I am 73 years young I quit chasing the ladies after a second marriage. The only thing that gets me in a little hurry is bathroom breaks and my rocking chair and a warm fire and black coffee. So take your time don't rush I like the way you do these videos.

The bench came out nice. I think you got better alignment with the all thread vs. clamps. When I made mine I took it a step further by putting a straight edge across the bench and marking the high spots with a pencil. I used an electric plane and a belt sander to bring the bench into +/- 1/16”. I use the bench just about every day and I might build another one just for fun! BTW it took me four weeks to complete the bench.
