Edition 2 is better than 1 and 4. Edition 3 is so different tat its not fair to compare to 1,2,4. 3 us a great bottle all its own
Great score! I still haven't tried this one. I do like their 12yr and 18yr though! So for that price if you had to pick, would you rather have a 700ml 18yr Glendro 46% NCF or a 750ml NAS Mac 48.2% ?
I really liked this Macallan but I always pick Glendronach.

Enjoyed the review guys! I recently did a vertical tasting with the 12 double cask, the 12 sherry, the edition 2 and the 18 sherry. The 2 12's are close but I give the edge to the sherry cask. the edition 2 and the 18 are a big step up in quality. For me the edition 2 wins, echoing the tasting notes you guys experienced. When price is factored in the ed 2 is the clear winner.
Agreed. I'm glad they are doing this series. It is a lot of fun to do the tasting between several and see the differences and similarities.

Wonderful that Macallan has opted for higher abv...natural color...now if they’d lose the chill filter (unless they have & shame on me, I missed the mention).

WoW!!! , I’ve seen this in a store near me for around 80 bucks, a buddy of mine has it, I thought it was pretty good, but wish it was a little spicier....I found it interesting that you guys ranked it a little higher than the Glendoranch 18, how do you think it would compare side-by-side?
I had the Edition #1 which was very good but stopped there, just not a big fan of the Macallan sulpher profile. I get the 12yo once in a while, the 18yo was good before it tripled in price, now I just pass.
I'm super sensitive to the Mac sulpher myself, but did find this particular one to be pretty good! ~Mark

Not all NAS are good but they aren’t all bad either. This was a very nice dram and I’m happy we have it.

Sounds like the Edition series may pique my interest in purchasing a Macallan. Never had one yet, but not paying through the nose for watery pish! At 48% that sounds more like it.

Heard mixed reviews on this one. I have the No. 3 and like it. Not to the extent of some other Macallans I've tried but I do like it. I have not had the No. 2 though!

This is the best Mac in the edition series
Wasn't a fan of this one. Had the same reaction as mark. A taste i couldn't place that i found offputting. It's been on my shelf collecting dust. Edition 4 hits the spot for me.
I have been pleasantly surprised by the variations in this series. It certainly seems like they are trying to show how wide the profile is just changing what casks they use. We haven’t tried 4 yet but it’s coming.

Found #2 about 3 months ago in Dallas for $130, its out there, you have to stay on the hunt for it!
