Hi I’ve just came across this video. One question, I’m looking at putting a pod and hot tub on some land I’m looking to acquire, there’s already an outbuilding with water and electricity, would I need to apply for permission for the pod? Thanks

    Hey, great video.
I want a Glamping site in the south west. Ie cornwall/devon.
Do you think I'm wasting my time researching buying land with barns/stables to live in a static and gradually start a Glamping site and planning to turn barn/stable into a residential property.
    Any help would be tremendous.
    Thank you anyone in advance.

      Hello Andrew,
      Thanks for your message.
As with any site careful consideration must be made regarding local designations; AONB's SSSI's and historic monuments make applications more tricky. Matters such as siting, access, visual impact, water management, drainage, sustainability and business need are all factors that the planners will consider. Let us know when you have found your plot and we can take a look for you.
      I hope this helps.

Hi, I am planning to buy land in weals like woodland and thinking to do 4 or 5 wooden shutters which can be removed as well at any time and the rest is for those who like to use their own tent camping, is that difficult to get planning permission? may I have some information, please

Hi I’m looking a put a shepherds hut in my garden I come under Christchurch Council uk. I’m a short walk to the beach and there’s somebody about 400 m away has done exactly the same thing though I don’t know whether they have planning permission or not but they’re on Airbnb. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated

Hi McBarber, Are you thinking of using the Shepherds Hut as an airb&b or such like? If so it would be necessary to to apply for change of use. Do get in touch if you need help with this. Kind regards

Have you heard of CUP (conditional use permit) ?
We are running into this issue out in Williams Arizona on land specified for general use.
All we want to do is puts some tents up and it seems like they have all these insane requirements to do it.
Is there a way to present your project to avoid harsh restrictions.
I understand if it was a permanent structure, but they’re tents???
    Please shed some light

      It’s been a while and… crickets.
Won’t be bothering with this channel anymore. At least a “I’m not sure” or any reply would have been nice.
I’ll let you know if I find out anything

Hi there, Im so sorry for the delay in responding. Im afraid the Rural Planning Co is a UK based business and therefore we cant advise on planning policy overseas.
      Good luck.

In my jurisdiction, Ontario, Canada ( just across the river from Massena, NY) A CUP is issued when/where not all of the approvals required to build have been received...ususally isued on large projects with many moving parts so as to not slow down development- I encountered them in Solar farm construction, I operate airbnb's and am planning to expand inot a glamping operation- permitting is difficult.

Great video! Do you know if the Certified Caravan and Camping Club also works in the US? I've been seriously thinking about putting up 2-3 tents in my backyard, but don't know if its legal. If business doesn't work out, my kids will have super cool backyard camping haha

But where oh where would you get the customers, given that everyone is supposed to be starving to death because of the cost of living crisis...?

@@swhiting100 True dat. Things like glamping cater to members of the Golden Circle who magically never want for anything.

Is this applicable in Scotland too?

    • @theruralplanningco2112
      @theruralplanningco2112  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The policy referred to generally relates to England, but many of the 'principles' of what we discuss would also be relevant. Things like access, flooding etc would all be equally applicable in Scotland.
