[프랑스] 유네스코 세계유산, 남프랑스 '아를'에서 시작하는 산티아고 순례 출발지 '레잘리스캉' Les Alyscamps (4K)

그리스 신화에서 영웅들이 사후에 머물던 낙원을 상징하는 ‘샹젤리제’ (Champs Élysées)를 의미하는 프로방스 사투리 ‘레잘리스캉’ (Les Alyscamps)은 ‘아를’ (Arles) 남동쪽에서 로마로 연결되는 ‘오렐리아 길’ (Via Aurelia)에 로마시대부터 생성된 공동묘지이다.
로마가 ‘골’ (Gaulle) 땅을 점령한 로마시대부터 중세시대까지 다양한 모습의 석관들이 놓여져 있다. 이중으로 석관 묘들이 줄지어 늘어서 있고 큰 나무들이 하늘을 향해 뻗어 있는 이 길은 아를에서 가장 이색적인 장소이다. 죽음과 삶이 교차하는 이곳을 배경으로 반 고흐는 4 점의 작품을 그렸고, 고갱이 그린 "레 잘리스캉" (Les Alyscamps)은 파리의 ‘오르세 미술관’에 전시되고 있다.
303년에 참수된 ‘아를’ (Arles)의 성자 ‘생즈네스’ (Saint Genest)와 첫 번째 주교 ‘생트로핌’ (Saint Trophime) 성자가 ‘알리스캉’ (Alyscamps)에 묻히면서 수세기 동안 많은 사람들이 성자들의 곁에 묻히고 싶어하여 번성(?)한다.
또한, 426년에서 429년 사이에 ‘아를’ (Arles)의 주교이었던 ‘생토노라’ (Saint-Honorat) 성자를 위하여 1040년경 마르세유의 ‘생빅토르’ (Saint-Victor) 수도원이 이 곳에 성소를 설치하였고, 프로방스 순례자들을 위한 ‘산티아고 데 콤포스텔’ (Saint-Jacques de Compostelle) 순례의 출발점이 된다.
그러나 1152년에 ‘생트로핌’ (Saint Trophime)의 유물이 도심에 있는 ‘생테티엔’ (Saint-Étienne) 대성당 (나중에 Saint-Trophime으로 바뀜)으로 옮겨지면서 세인의 관심에서 멀어지기 시작한다. 르네상스 시대부터 고위 성직자, 영주 및 왕들이 자신들의 수집품을 풍부하게 하기 위해 석관을 열어 내용물을 훔치기 시작하면서 폐허가 된 것이다.

알프스님. 이곳은 한인들에게 많이 알려진 장소는 아니지만, 프랑스를 방문해서 이런 장소를 탐방하는 것도 뜻깊은 일정이 될 것 같아요.
