Still coming back to this video after 4 years. LIVE remixes. He's fucking insane. He ought to have an overboard camera everytime he does a set. Unbelievable.
I read most of the comments and while i agree with most of yall, here's my take: you dont compare great art. Great art is just that, great. Talent and genius will always recognise talent and genius and all those great DJ's yall mentioned all have great respect for one another. Its not about who's the best. At the end of the day, these guys make people dance their asses off and forget their problems for that hour or so that they perform. I tip my hats to them all! NUFF respect!!!
Must admit, used to think dj's weren't talented and didn't do anything special, just because they weren't writing songs in a band... But holy shit it takes skill. All those buttons, getting sounds right.. respecttttt
To djconetits 1.he is a good producer, 2.great dj , 3.best attitude ever i mean not arrogant to his fans, 4.Been playing great in the best night clubs in the world, and a member of the swedish hous mafia, so before you post any comments like that, think before if you would be able to be like him one day, and think twice, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
laidback lukes just so great, by looking at his skills nobody should say that noadays djs dont have to do anything anymore, actually it seems to become even more complex, if ur professional..p.s. bless the ppl who give us the tracklists.. :))))
@streaker9 answer: he looped the track and he pressed a hot cue buttom (even if you can't see the bottom in this camera position..), he always prepare with some cue point for his live sets, this trick is a part of his mixing technique called hot cue mixing.. The new pioneer CDJ 2000 decks can read the tracks with its cue points and also with its own loop parts. Please dont ask stupid questions if you dont know anything at all about the topic...
lbl mixes are the only mixes i listen to because of his pure honest technical mixing skills and i enjoy it. so all of you who likes those straight on mixes like avicii, etc (nothing against them), you all are boring lol. :D
@assais i'm not a scratch dj either, i play tech house and techno, but i prefer the feel of turntables. Well, usually in clubs you are higher up than the audience so they don't really see what you're playing on. As long as the mixing is good and the music is good, then you'll be fine. People who aren't familiar with dj set ups usually believe a big set up with plenty of lights is a good set, but people that know what mixing is about will listen to your mixing and judge you form your setup!
Part 2: 5. Bart B More & Harvard Bass - Listen to This (Original Mix) [Missing from video] 6. Green Velvet - Harmageddon (Felix Cartal Remix) [Missin from video] 7. Destroy Disco & Tom Piper - Bender (Angger Dimas Remix) w/ Sean Paul - Temperature (Acapella) 8. Leonardus - Oh Well (Original Mix) 9. Basement Jaxx - Fly Life (Dan Castro Rework) w/ Seductive ft. Lady Bee - Heat it Up (Acapella) 10. DJ Sneak - You Can't Hide From Your Bud (A-Trak Remix) 11. Mr G. - Blessed (Original Mix)
question: with regards to the loop at like 9:50, would he be able to do this without a waveform of the track in front of him? because how else would he know when the drop will happen?
@djconetits no one's perfect dude... Laidback Luke really loves playing around and having fun with mixing. He's not one to make everything sound flawless and super super clean ; )
Part 1: 1. Chuckie & Hardwell ft. Ambush - Move It 2 The Drum (Original Mix) 2. Mumbai Science - Hoot (Original Mix) 3. Nas - Made You Look (Laidback Luke Bootleg) (Wolfgang Gartner Edit) 4. Joey Beltram - Instant w/ Submission - Women Beat Their Men (Acapella)
Does anyone know how to do that trick at 9:02-9:03 where he makes the kick double I've tried putting it on echo but I'm not sure how to do it. If anyone knows what it's called or how to do it I'd appreciate it.

@assais i was in the same situation at the beginning.. but after a while when you get better in mixing you start using other stuff too.. I don't use the sync anymore and i beatmatch by ear.. eventually everything is goin to turn useful.. the only thing I don't use is the loop recorder :S

siento que.. por más que yo practique en mi vida, jamás podría mezclar como él. Hace demasiado sin errores .
@assais i'm not a scratch dj either, i play tech house and techno, but i prefer the feel of turntables.
