    In this project, we’re going to make a motion sensor detector with photo capture using an ESP32-CAM. When your PIR sensor detects motion, it wakes up, takes a photo and saves it in the microSD card.
    This project is very similar with a previous one ( • ESP32-CAM Take Photo a... ), but after so many requests, we added a PIR motion sensor to the circuit. So, when motion is detected a picture is taken and saved on the microSD card.

    Hello, Rui, Thank you for your educating. Looking at your circuit diagram, I believe that the line shorting the 10k resistor should not be there. Your actual circuit does not have it, and it worked nicely for me without it. I just thought that I'd mention it, although I think everyone must have caught it. Unless I am missing something!

    • @rodrimunoz9110
      @rodrimunoz9110 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That happens because whenever you ower up the PIR, it gives back a HIGH pulse. After that first one HIGH trigger, it'll work normally. You can write a delay of 3000 ms in the last line of your setup loop to bypass that HIGH signal from the PIR only once after the power on.

    Nice, thank you for sharing. I have a couple of observations.
    1. When I activate the PIR, I get 3 and sometimes 4 emails with a picture. I looked back at the sketch, the circuit is supposed to send one email each time a presence is detected, then wait for 10 seconds to allow the PIR to settle. I am not sure what the trigger period of my PIR is, which, if too short, would lead me to think that I am getting multiple triggers. If not, what else is happening?
    2. I noticed that when the camera is on, my computer (a notebook) loses connection with the internet router. I can still connect to the same router using my iPhone, but not with my computer. I cut the power to the ESP32 board (camera off) and I got my router connection back. Can you please, give me your thoughts on these two points?

    • @nakedtruth698
      @nakedtruth698 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far after watching multiple videos and doing experiments with my own ESP32CAM I got to know that the PIR used in this project creates so much of noise and that triggers the Camera or sometimes the triggers are missed and it doesnt work. It does work with capacitor and ferrites cores too.

    What a great project. I've been waiting for something like this for a long time! I just want to replace my ip cams at home that I don't really trust.
    One thing still missing though... Can you save the still images to a network drive rather than on the SD? If so, I can setup Node-RED to monitor the network drive in real time and send the images to my mobile phone over the internet whenever there is any motion detected. It will effectively replace those dodgy ip cams.

      I've tried the streaming with ESPcam already but I found it not that practical due to the overheating.
      The idea of combining PIR sensor + still images is much better in my opinion. Great to hear that you are planning to add functions to send images to server in near (I wish!) future.
      FYI, I've tried to install Arduino Telegram Library (by Brian Lough) on the ESPcam and it failed for some reasons I can't figure out. It could be even something nice 'all-in-one' solution if you could send the images directly to Telegram from ESPcam.

      I built the code to send the snapshot to a waiting socket server (in php). Piece of cake. The php saves the snapshot and optionally sends it to my phone via sms using the T-mobile email gateway.
