  • In this video I shoot 2 rolls through my new medium format camera, the Bronica GS-1! My developing chemicals were expired so some of the colors turned out funky, but overall I’m pretty happy with the results!

    I know very little people who shoot the Bronica GS-1 so this was cool to see. I've been shooting the GS-1 for almost a year now and it's honesty very underrated. I also recommend using the mirror lock-up function for night photography.

    I sold my GS-1 when I jumped to Large Format. I sure miss it. Those PG lenses are fantastic. I would choose the GS-1 over the Mamiya any day.

    Hi! i have the same camera and i love it so much, i have a question for this shoots do you use a cable release? i want to try some night shoots but i'm a little nervous about the exposure of the photos :(

    • @NatSegebre
      @NatSegebre  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! I didn't use a shutter release because it uses one I don't have yet, so I pushed my film to 800 ISO and since in camera the lowest shutter speed is 16 seconds it was long enough for what I needed; as you probably saw in some of the shots though, it resulted in some camera shake in the photos

    Congrats on your GS-1. I have two of them and they area great camera for MF. Hold on to your camera, they are going up in price. MF is a great format for experimentation. Good luck!

    I shoot a Mamiya 67 system. Big and heavy, granted, but the rotating back means I don't need a heavy prism finder to shoot in the portrait orientation. That said, I have the Bronica SQ system and love it, if I get chance to get into the GS system then I will go for it. You can never have too many 67 cameras!! 😊

    Just a tip if you want to accept it, those "stains" came from not washing thoroughly the film after developing ! Thats chemical grease. If you leave it to dry by itself without a proper wash that will always happen !

    • @NatSegebre
      @NatSegebre  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diogo Costa Sousa thank you!! I probably just didn’t wash them correctly. I’ll def keep that in mind (:

    I think in this case the film borders took away some of the impact from your ethereal dreamlike shots. Apart from that, great shots.

    • @NatSegebre
      @NatSegebre  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the feedback! I would agree-when I posted them on social media I didn't include the borders since I thought the same. For this video I included the borders to show the whole photo (:

    does your mirror reset after each photo or does it reset when you cock the shutter? mine resets when you wind the shutter and im trying to find out if that is normal. thanks!

    • @williampower2333
      @williampower2333 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      3 things happen when you wind on the film! Look into the lens whilst you wind-the shutter is closed after the shot to block light. 1st stage:- the reflex mirror lowers & resets; the film advances. 2nd stage [the half stroke on the 'G' grip{highly recommended}] cocks the shutter! That's why you can only change lenses with the film advanced! PS:- Any shutter release with a Mini-C plug works! Picked one up on flEa-Bay for a Canon for $4!
