This is very accurate to every grade school recital. The kids are just doing their very best. Also, Jerod is the poor conductor who has to witness this madness unfold in front of eyes.
As good as this is, it doesn’t have the part where the band struggles to hit the arpeggios at all and slows down to 50% of the written tempo. Then during the accels they start to speed up a bit before it becomes apparent that they still can’t hit the tempo and slow down again. Yeah I’m… definitely speaking from experience 😂 Everyone starts somewhere!
I just discovered that video a few days ago and have watched it about a dozen times. That guy has some real talent for writing what he calls “shitscores” lol - I can’t tell you how much I love this - makes me laugh (or at least smile) any time I need some humor.
That bit where he's leaning forward and trying to read the sheet on the video as the note line goes all over the place, my brain went "That's some line rider BS right there." (in regards to the note tracking line spinning all over and such)

As someone who was in High School Band, that played this whole Suite, it's crazy. I'm happy I just had the big ol "Bwoomps" since I was a Baratone Horn, so it was fun but man the whole thing just goes to hell quick.
As one of the few kids in middle school that played the french horn (according to my music teachers the french horn had a high skill level, so my younger self wanting to be special took it immediately when they offered it to me), this is very true.

I used to be an upright bass player in middle school, you could hear EVERYTHING back there, even moreso during those 20 beat rests that upright bass players get for some reason, it often was like this in the back of the room lol
For a more natural demonstration of Hall of The Mountain King sounding terrible, anyone interested should look up the Portsmouth Sinfonia playing this song. In many ways that version sounds far worse than this, doubly so since it isn't someone trying to make something sound bad, the players were genuinely bad.
