I always think the criticism that Jarrett gets is unfair in true context after hearing him explain why he had himself in the position he did in the early days of TNA. Jarrett explained how the finances of the company didn’t make it feasible to be able to sign big name stats full time to be in those top roles. And he had name recognition from the years he was in WWF and WCW. He explained that it was largely their financial situation and not having the money to sign big names full time to be in that role so he filled it for a lot of the time because he did have name value that people knew and he knew he could count in himself always being around unlike trying to sign big names to part time roles for such a position since they couldn’t afford those guys full time. And when you look back once they started signing some bigger names the title did start getting put into those guys like a Rhino or Christian Cage or Sting once they had him signed to work more dates than he was when he first appeared in TNA. Jarretts final run with the world title in TNA was in 2006 when he eventually lost it to Sting. A notable thing of Jarretts time in TNA is that he never won the TNA branded world title. For the final 6-7 years he was in TNA before he resigned in 2013 he didn’t hood the world title again. He spent more years never winning the title than he did winning the title in the company. So when that context factors in I always feel the narrative about Jarrett always booking himself on top as some sort of vanity project is a false narrative. During the time the company didn’t have investment into big names he held it a lot. Once they signed multiple big names he didn’t win it ever again. For a guy who supposedly always put himself on top out of vanity it seems odd to see that he never won the title that carried the name of his company if he genuinely was so ego driven in his choices as many believe. Looking at full context his explanation to me has a lot of merit - I simply can’t commit to believing a dude was in a vanity role who didn’t win his company branded world title a single time and didn’t win it a again once big names got brought in. It’s just a fun narrative to spin to say that he put his entire life savings on the line to start a company all to stroke his ego and be the forever champion rather than recognizing the realities of why he had himself in the roles he did and seeing that once the circumstances changed he adjusted his role accordingly.
I wasn't sure if I could get interested in eleven hours of Cornett talking about Cody & Brandi but there's enough variety & Cornett is such a great story teller that this is another great episode, just longer. 👍✌️❤️

Seems weird hearing Jim be positive about Jericho in AEW. Amazing how he went from the best thing in the company to a popularity leech with terrible ideas and Stadium Stampedes.
I still think he’s a positive to be involved. He has his shortcomings of course but I still think he has a lot of positive to offer to people. I think Jim as he normally does gets upset when somebody he feels knows better endorses things he feels they should condemn as being bad such as Stadium Stampede. I think he would cut him some slack if he didn’t outwardly speak positively of those things and instead just didn’t say much about them because I do think Corny can reasonably know that Jericho can’t be expected to publicly bag on things even if he didn’t like them and disagreed with the decisions. But when he sees somebody he feels should be pushing back against ideas he dislikes choosing to endorse those things he quickly loses his respect of them. I can somewhat get feeling that way - the value of being a veteran in that locker room is being a guy willing to push back against some stuff and offer alternatives over blank check endorsing all of the ideas. Maybe he does push on some stuff and just stays locked in to the public but I think it seems that he genuinely may just go along with whatever ideas come his way rather than being willing to push back on stuff for the betterment of the show. I think his desire to work with younger guys with less experience is well intentioned and he probably does want to elevate those people. Unfortunately it doesn’t feel like he has succeeded in that and has felt like he’s stealing the young guys momentum at times. I think that is largely MJF who didn’t really need to do what he did with Jericho because he was naturally getting respect of fans without needing that to happen. Others like OC I think was fine. I think he got criticism for that from people like Corny because they don’t like OC, and he definitely isn’t something I prefer, but I think a feud where he loses to that guy twice who is seen highly by the company management helps to bring some legitimacy to the guy. I really don’t think Jericho has been such a negative like some people may think. I think a lot of people attribute ideas they dislike to mean that the person executing that idea must be a bad person instead of just saying that maybe the things that person likes differs from what they like. If Jericho had done a lot of the same stuff he has but that stuff happened to be what his detractors like on the show I don’t think he’d be seen as such a bad guy like some see him. I don’t think he’s a bad guy I just think he does things that aren’t my taste.

7 hours 20mins on discussion that AEW doesn't have faces or heels, everyone is in little groups that all hate eachother for no real reason, none of them really deserving of support - so AEW is the most realistic analogy for high-school ever created!
That took me by surprise as well having hindsight of their opinion of her now. Honestly I don’t think she lacks talent I just think the role they’ve put her in on the show and how they use her makes it seem she lacks talent when it’s more so the way they’ve chosen to use her on their show. I feel that having her be a character like she is and getting so much exposure and attention in matches is just so opposite of the way referees have been used throughout history and in a way makes her seem untalented for doing what she’s been told to do. Granted I’m sure she’s happy to have the exposure on their shows and probably never put up a fight against being used in the way she is so I wouldn’t absolve her for her use but I do think it should be recognized that it’s probably not a lack of talent but more so her use on the show. I fell off from her when they kept harping on her all the time at the start of the company. After a bit of them doing that so often it began to feel like posturing to look inclusive because one of their perceived best referees was female. That stuff always turns me off to see. I’m glad when companies are more inclusive and diverse in their staffing by bringing women and minorities into solid roles in their company and want it to become normal practice. But I always hate when people speak of people as “first female football coach, first female referee for a world title match” and so on. I get in a sense why it’s done to show underrepresented people of progress being I imagine but I still have never liked it when it happens. To me when you do things like that it diminishes that persons talents in a sense to me because when you focus on that characteristic for the person being in some role it feels a bit like you’re saying someone wasn’t put in a role because they’re the best person to be in that role but more so because of whichever diverse characteristic they have that’s being touted when speaking about the person. I feel like when the diversity aspect gets the majority of the focus about someone instead of their talents and qualifications that it makes people appear to be tokens in a sense rather than just talented people for their roles. I listened to a speaker address increasing diversity in prominent positions and he honed in on what I’ve often felt about not simply hiring to increase diversity but truly focusing on talents and abilities in the efforts for diversity. Because the reality is if you hire based on diversity over expecting top level ability for a role it becomes a long term detriment to increasing diversity because when a person isn’t the best fit for their role it exacerbates the feelings some may have about how people of diversity only obtain their roles because of diversity and grow negative views of the individuals. So for someone like an Aubrey who had so much focus placed on her because she is female I feel like that does more harm to have more individuals obtain roles like she has obtained than it does to increase those things because it begins to feel like those people get roles they aren’t qualified for. But in the end hearing all the roles Aubrey fills in AEW in addition to being a referee I can see the value she brings to the company to have.
That may not be possible because of how many are parodies of songs with copyrighted melodies. They'd probably get flagged and blocked. I assume that's why they don't make it into TH-cam already.

“Nobody’s gonna accuse the bucks of being on steroids” I literally laughed out loud.

Jim and Brian can you please make an omnibus featuring the musical submissions!
That may not be possible because of how many are parodies of songs with copyrighted melodies. They'd probably get flagged and blocked. I assume that's why they don't make it into TH-cam already.
Praise the editors!
I do think it's funny Jim said Charlotte has a ridiculous number of Hispanic people when probably the time he's talking about was well under 100k.
I remember when Brian suggested this. Finally it has arrived!
Been waiting this like forever...or two months
