I’m sorry I thought this video was going to be a clone of the 1000 videos of the same pot. Your tips on what and why you packed in it was very different and informative. I hope you still are active in the community. Thanks again
Thx for posting. Great mod. Had done something similar myself with 2 small carabiner clips and a length of thin wire cable to clip to the pot but yours looks much better.
I have the GSI Bugaboo Kit and have been looking for a pot to go with it. I always like having a frying pan also. Thanks for showing that the fry pan fits on the bottom of the 1.6 pot. That's what I'll get.
Thx for posting. Great mod. Had done something similar myself with 2 small carabiner clips and a length of thin wire cable to clip to the pot but yours looks much better. I'll definately try this out on my next camp.
As of 2020 the "Seagull" pot family is no longer shown on the MSR Web site, but they offer the Alpine™ Stowaway line in 445 ml, 775 ml, 1.1 liter and 1.6 liter sizes, which look identical to the "Seagull" design. I just found a 1.1-liter Seagull pot in like-new condition at a thrift store for about US$5, a quarter of the MSRP for a new one. Lots of good ideas in this video for extending the usefulness of this pot. A stainless steel Sierra cup, or a Coleman polypropylene camp cup, which can double as a measuring cup, fit nicely inside the 1.1 liter pot.
Great idea. I made one for my 1.6 Seagull pot and now to find the pan. Where is a god place to find the pan? Great mod. Everyone who has this pot needs to do this.
I do have a stick made more flat on the end, but not for lifting the top of my pot, as my pot top has a fold out handle with silicone coating. I use it in the fold out handle of my metal camp cup to take it away from the fire if I don't have a glove to do so.
You could probably use the pot lid as a frying pan maybe by attaching a pair of fish mouth spreaders to the lid handle. Love the idea for the bail mod I have been wondering if there was a way to do it without drilling through the pot. Thanks
Clever, suggest painting the wires a bright color if-when you drop them in the grass. Size choice is key on these. 1.6 is beefy for a backpacker great for power outage kit or roller/car camper. The first cookpiece I've ever cared to buy new!
Fantastic idea about the mod. Got on of these pots in the mail for me allready. But ordered it more for family trips so i got the 1,6 liter. What size is yours? Oh, and subbed :-)
Thanks for the mod idea. I have looking for a pot. I really prefer the Mors pot though can't find it in Canada. I also would never use aluminum pots. I want stainless steel or titanium. I don't want chemicals leaching out of the aluminum into my food. Not good for long time usage.
@@OshawaBushcraft surprised. Its a seven dollar kit. I removed the plastic cup and replaced it with a minni fork spoon a scratchy pad and bandana. Its a fry pan a plat and small pot. I replaced the knob of the pot with a real knob from an old pot i had at home. Now the knob don't melt. Im looking for a pot like you have to nest it in. I use stick stove instead of gas or esbit. Plenty of sticks around and the beach sand of a lake cleans them up like new. So that is why i want one. Plus id like to cook something other than noodles. A bigger pot would work but i need space in my pack. That would help with that.
@TheJerbrep5 he said its a GSI minimalist light weight fry pan but it is really a Black Lite Fry Pan from Mountain Safety Research (MSR not MSI) $8.97 @Amazon.. Hey he's Canadian give him a break. You could aproxamate the fry pan with Wilton Performance Round 6" x 2" Cake pan from walmart for about 6 bucks " www.walmart.com/ip/Wilton-Round-Cake-Pan/10542185
Love the msr cookpots. I have both the small and large one and they are awesome! I like the finish on your silverware, I'm gonna try and duplicate it this week with my GSI stainless set. Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna sub! If you get the chance , check out my channel sometime!

really like your hanging mod for the pot. I’m making them for my pots too, still tweaking them. Thanks for the ideas. Love your country too
Nice setup and clever idea for DIY bail handle that won't damage your pot.
Cheers,

Good idea and the much feasible way of hanging your pot. Im on it. & thanks alot for the info. Just GENIUS! thumbs up!
Love the non-stick fry pan and bail mod! Thanks for sharing. I'll be doing the same to mine.
The thing I like about the hanging mod, is you are not drilling holes, and you can still use the pot over coals or a whisperlite stove.
Very nice set up. I'm looking into getting one of these pots. Thnx for the demo.
I bought two of them 2 different sizes have not used them yet good video thanks for ideas for my pack
Glad you like them!

TWO GREAT MODS MY MAN. I REALLY LIKE THEM BOTH. THANKS, OH, AND THE BANDANA HACK IS GENIUS.
Never had the need to hang a pot in the air cook on hot coals

Really nice mods - love my MSR pot to.
you should also make a wire handle for the lid so you can use it as a frying pan
Brilliant bail mod ! Very interesting vid....thank you .....learned a fair bit ! Subbed...

I would love to find a pot/pan that next like that but i believe both showen are discontinued.
That's awesome man, thanks for sharing!
Clever bail mod. I'd be tempted to then also have a short length of chain to dangle it from. Would make it easier to fine tune the height.
Thats brilliant! Cheers!
Shot out to the SHWA!!
Nice modification, That's using your head.
good video, good idea for the bail
That is a great mod. I have the same pot and have trying to figure out a way to hang it. Thanks.
i learned something,, pot hanger rod 👍
Awesome Mod, I gotta try that.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate your mods as well. I was wondering how well the frying pan works over an open fire?
Good mod, good kit. Thanks and take care
some great ideas.
Very cool. I need to do that to my 1.6 or what it really is the 2.0. Thanks!

You should consider doing a video on how you made the bail mod bits.
NM. I found it...th-cam.com/video/hNaZxKtMWlU/w-d-xo.html
Awesome
What is the name of the frying pan?

Pure genius
What r the specs for the bail wire.😁
Its coat hanger wire.
I know how to make the mod to hang over the fire but can you do a video on the dimensions?
