Love this video. I have the rolling cart. I went to a yard sale and got a very large picture frame for $1. Secured it to the top of the cart and use it for sorting, and it is at a great height and rotates for finding pieces. I use the two other bins for all my puzzle accessories. Storage is always a tricky issue and your video certainly gives some ideas for storage. Depends on whether you wish to keep a lot of puzzles or just a few. I don't keep much in the way of puzzles and the ones I have fit on four shelves of a six shelf bookcase that is 29" wide. All the other puzzles that I do go out to the local community. One deciding factor is, 'Are you going to do the jigsaw again?' If not, out it goes. The puzzles in the to-do pile are in another bookcase and on top of my piano. What you do with your puzzles is very much a personal choice. Always interesting to see how people choose to store their puzzles as there is usually a wide variety.
I too find it interesting to see how people organize and store their puzzles. For me it's not a problem with the keep pile but rather a problem with my to do pile. Thanks for sharing.
Great topic! I store mine in my closets. I have wire tops of two in each closet that are above each hangers for flat tops and find puzzles stack nicely on them and are easy to find. I might need to get bins for done puzzles. Very good topic!!!
I too have kallax shelving from ikea and find them ideal. I used to store my puzzles on a Billy bookcase (also from ikea), but the larger puzzles hung over the edges of the shelves.
I need like a "leaving" box/shelf for all the puzzles that I have borrowed. I always end up mixing them with my own because I have so little space for my puzzles. This definitely gave me some good ideas!
good ideas,, I wish I had the space to put more floor shelving, small home, no basement, I have to be creative as to where I would even put floor shelving. I use a spare closet and shelves mounted on the walls. it seems my collection grows at night while Im not even looking.. lol lol
I wanted a clean/zen design for storing my puzzles so I went with the Besta series with doors from Ikea. It covers an entire wall 300cm wide. The depth of the shelves matches the length of a Ravensbuger box exactly and each individual shelf can store the equivalent of ten 1000 piece puzzles from Ravensburger for a total of 300 puzzles for the entire unit. Larger boxes such as Trefl, Clementoni and larger Ravensburger box have to be arranged differently to fit in which is why if I had to do it again, I would go for the Pax system with shelves and sliding doors because the shelves are deeper and could accommodate the larger boxes more easily. My puzzling table, also from Ikea, is made of two Lagkapten tables joined together and raised to bar height for easier puzzling when standing. It adds up to a total surface of 200cm x 120cm. I have been keeping my puzzles stacked up on the top two shelves that run along the sides of a walk-in closet above the clothes rods. I'm not entirely satisfied with that. I took down the puzzles and found I had to dust most of them off. Temporarily, I purchased large clear vinyl zippered cases with each fitting a number of puzzles. They fit back up on the closet shelves, I can see to find the puzzle I want, and they are protected from dust. However, I plan to check out your excellent suggestions for storage for a better solution.
I get plastic shelves from Hime Depot. They have 4 levels. They don’t have a backing but they are wide and tall. I have been able to store up to 120 puzzles just in one. I put mine inside my walk in closet in my bedroom.
I must be in the minority. I don't really keep enough puzzles to have to worry about storage. Once I complete one, I pass it on to someone or donate it. I currently have around 10, but that's just due to taking advantage of the holiday sales. Good topic for a video though
My challenge is that I don't have space for furniture & my puzzle preference is 1000+ pieces. I've seen 1 person say they put pieces in ziplock bags & cut the image from the box lids. But that just creates numerous ziplock baggie storage & I hate ruining the puzzle box (used/old puzzles are better to sell if they have the box).
I do all three. I prefer to sell as I am trying to reduce my to do pile. But I do trade once in while if I find a puzzle I'm interested in. If I can't get rid of the puzzles by selling or trading then I just donate. There are very few puzzles that I keep.

Very good point. I know not all Ikea shelves are ideal for puzzles but I guess it depends on which brands you have and the size of the box.

Wardrobes are good for storing Jigsaw puzzles 👌 throw away the clothes and live with a small capsule wardrobe😊 that fits on two small clothes racks

Yes, I’ve heard of this idea also but not found of cutting up boxes. Works well for kid puzzles since they are smaller piece counts.
