Logic has a plugin called pitch correction, it's under Audio FX > Pitch . There you'll find the classic autotune effect, where you can adjust the response time to make it super obvious or more subtle. There you get the classic Sher 'Believe' autotune effect which I think you're talking about and it's really good. Flex pitch is intended for very subtle realistic editing.
"I don't understand this, sometimes you split a note in half and it jumps to a weird spot" - it's because before it used the average pitch of the whole note to place it, and when you cut the note, the smaller cut had a higher average pitch on its own. Like you sing "aaaaaa" with your voice going from B# (very shortly held) to A (held for longer). The aggregate "ahhhhh" might average to A, but when you split it, the initial part will jump to B#. Some initial parts of notes also have non-identifiable pitches (like breathing) so those can jump somewhat arbitrarily based on what pitch it can think it is.
Thanks, this video makes feel better about only using flex pitch in Logic. It’s nice to know that it stands up well to the competition for normal vocal tuning. If I need the t-pain/cher effect then it looks like the other options are the way to go.
I spent many hours comparing flex pitch, melodyne and autotune sounds. In my opinion, autotune sounds best, but no ARA :( Melodyne sounds good, but you can't edit, draw as precisely as in autotune. Flex pitch sounds worst, blows high tones in hissing sounds, degrades the sound a bit but is very convenient to tune
Getting the hard-tune effect in logic's flex pitch is actually easy - you just have to set the "vibrato" parameter to 0 and hey there you go, hard-tuned beyond any realism and artefacts EVERYWHERE :)
Fascinating! It definitely has a tone to all of it's own. It's tight, but not as colored as the Auto-Tune. Super smooth. I do like the the "vibe" of the Auto-Tune sound, but Melodyne is also amazing in it's own right.
Rewind and listen again. There are clear differences. Each set of track has the same style of tuning applied to it, so you should certainly be hearing the cumulative effect.
logic not sounding like auto tune is a good thing. all i hear is fucking auto tune these days on most vocals and it all sounds the same to me. Theres no character, nothing really standing out as unique, just bog standard mass produced auto tune garbage.
@@godfreymitti9241 if you want to listen to talentless people who can't sing pretending to be great singers, go right ahead. Enjoy your Tang, I'd rather have fresh squeezed thanks.
@@TheCoffinDaggers It is a lot more to music than perfect pitch singers, some perfect pitch singers makes them sound boring and without personality,, how you sing, the tone, the engagement, the style, how real it feels, and 1000 other aspects that make singers or songs connect with their audience, it does not need to to be perfect to me
@@magnuseriksson8081 right that's my whole point, Why use auto tune to sanitize that? Fake time aligned drums, midi instruments, and pitch corrected singers equals bad music.
What's with all the shouting? That full on, full volume, non-stop, no pause, totally in your face commentary style screams 'I have zero confidence in my content so I have to distract everyone and put an excessive amount of energy into selling this'. Relax buddy. Chill out, the content is actually quite good. You don't have to force it to that extent. Take a breath. You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this so step back and let the presentation itself do the heavy lifting. That way if certain sections need emphasis you can do that quite easily. Think of it as analogous to dynamic range. Without the quiet sections there are no loud sections, it's all just the same without any variation.

Cher lmfao ik about her but we call it the t pain effect!!!! She used it once he pioneered it
yeah he mentioned it

Thanks for watching!! I would suggest MAutoPitch as a really great alternative to Auto-Tune for the “effect” (free too!)
I'm surprised but Melodyne is the tool that sounds less good for me. But it's sounds good with the three tools anyway. Thanks for the video
It’s kinda frustrating but you can use the glue tool to put the notes back together
That makes sense! Thank you! Very silly indeed.
Do either of these work well with multi-touch for touchscreen devices

What about New Tone from Image Line, Is it any good?
Haven’t tried it out yet! Looks powerful.

WHICH ONE IS BEST? LETS FIND OUT IN THE LOUDEST VOICE HUMANLY POSSIBLE! ALSO TINITUS, WHO WANTS SOME? YAY FOR SHOUTING!
the melodyne hard tuned sounds the best to me

Exact video I was looking for. Awesome work!
Thank you Jared!! Glad you enjoyed :)
Super awesome video, thanks for the help, Roy!!!
Flex tune is more transparent, the others add some high end
Why do you play all three in one go? How will I be able to hear the difference???

Good vid bruh! Coming from Slate Audiophiles! Keep grinding 🔥
I appreciate it!! Thank you! Doing my best.
Hard to hear the differences as you have 3 vocals playing at once, would have been better if just one vocal track at a time...
Interesting thought!! Throw on headphones. They’re panned pretty distinctly!
Why do people comment on this as it was very obvious, it was not to me. am I deaf??
The perfect vidéo ! Thanks bro
Hope it helps!
You could've highlighted all the notes and turned the pitch correction fader to 100%
I’ll have to try that next time!
Great vid! Thxs! 🔥✨

Decent tutorial, but all the jump cuts and speeding up clips made me dizzy.
Thanks for the feedback!!
you are a great singer bro :)
👊 I appreciate that!
The best sound is the tracks WITHOUT tuning.
My two cents...
Totally fair!
To join the broken note just select the notes you want to join and press command +j
Amazing, thank you!

I thought the vocals sounded great before anything was slapped on them! Then again I'm no expert, that's why I'm here. lol
1 Melodyne . 2 Auto tune but sounds [Very Robotic ] 3 not in any League !!!
The hard tune just breaks my ear! (please guys stop doing it) so the soft tune is better choice for me so Logic Pro works for me.
He plays to much in one go to hear the difference here
everybody saying melodyne is better, so I still don't know the answer.
Get autotune if you want to kill the last emotion in vocals. „Brave New World“.
WHY ARE YOU YELLING?
😂😂😂
Flex pitch from logic sounds terrible!
What do you prefer instead?
Bullshit, tell me the difference you heard in this recording??
It'd be easier to hear on singular tracks
How about singers that can actually sing in key in the first place? Do you really like all this fake music?
i mean, as someone who's trying to compare the two pieces of software, i don't care.
Yeah also everyone should be naked. Clothes are fake skin.
