  • In this video we'll be attempting to re-root a rootless Haworthia. This Haworthia badia 'Kobiotori' was a gift from Kath of ‪@PurpleandThorns‬ last year which arrived without any roots. Have we been successful in rejuvenating this Haworthia? Lets find out. Enjoy! :)

    California / Los Angeles: This is an extremely puzzling frustrating problem I have run into MANY times usually involving Hybrid Haworthias that have dropped its roots, sometimes after repotting it, or after a serious rot attack from overwatering during the summer. Often before I tear my hair out in frustration, I toss the damn uncooperative thing rather than watch it shrivel away to NOTHING. SO after a year, of patiently watering the obstinate thing, my God, it finally put out some skimpy roots. Good for you! I would have bought several new Haworthias at this point! - My conclusion is this problem is the result of endless hybridization. Utimately these are fussy plants.

      Interesting theory but isn't the case with this one. It's grown into a lovely healthy plant now with strong roots, has even produced a couple of offsets since this video. You might be on to something, though. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

    Good thing's come to those who wait, and
    patience is a virtue. add knowledge, skill and understanding
    And you get your just rewards, sounds simply!but it's not,
    well done Daz some luck also plays a part as in my (humble)
    opinion the right amount of light and heat for each spicies
    also comes into play ,and that's the knowledge that you
    have, always a vid from you that's a joy to share and

    Such a relief, Sweetheart! 😅Took a year for it to fully be out of the “recuperating section”. You did the right thing, cutting the stump instead. Although I’ve had 100% success with water therapy for my rootless Haworthias. It can be a bit more challenging though. Did you keep it under low light? Love that you took the time to do subtitles for inclusivity and viewers who might not be familiar with your beautiful accent. 😊 Thank you for the update. The Haworthia looks so much healthier and plump now! ❤️😍👏🏼💚

      Thank you so much my love 🥰 Yeah I’m glad I chose to cut it instead of water therapy, you know what happened last time I did that ☹️ Yeah I kept it away from any intense light as it was stressed out enough. Haha yeah we got a lot of videos to go through babe and add subtitles 😂 Enjoyed watching with you as as always, babe. Thank you for all your love, support and encouragement ❤️🤗😘🌵❤️

    Catching up on everyone's videos... that's lovely you persevered with that Haworthia, it's a very pretty looking one, I wonder, are all Haworthia that stubborn to grow new roots when they are all gone for whatever reason, or is it just certain types 🤔🌵👍🏻😁

I forgot to mention in the video because it was summer and pretty hot last year when I got this Haworthia, it might have been in a dormant state which could have contributed to its slowness. Likewise with how hot it was this summer. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜

    GREAT video, I have had a number of rootless Haworthias lately to deal with, major hassle and annoyance getting them to regrow roots this is a lengthy process with no guarantee they will survive this is very instructive BADIA are the worst they are notorious for taking forever to grow new roots yours took a year, whew, what a hassle, and you have to constantly keep checking, moral of the story don't let your Haworthia lose their roots from neglect better to just buy a new one than deal with the tedious annoyance of this, like taking care of a baby!

    Hi there - I just had to do the same to my Haworthia Truncata - how much water do you use ? Do you just wet the top layer for a small amount of moisture? Twice a week? Or do you water it through? Thank you I appreciate any help.

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. I just moistened the soil a few times a week to encourage root growth. You can use water therapy for rooting Haworthia as well, but I’ve tried that method a couple of times in the past and it resulted in both plants rotting out. I think this method is safer. Good luck with your truncata, hope it roots up well for you. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜
