when in Tcl from activatestate, the only download file is (.msi ). After download and install it, the openSees interface display an error asking me to reinstall; I did it and still not be able to open the oponSees interface . So I would like to know whether it is able to convert the msi file to an exe one .
hi Sir, I used the old version of opensees, and I finished my program but my laptop was broken so when I reinstall opensees, it's a new version now, like what you presented. So now, I don't know how to keep installing or installing the old version. I built my model with the old version ( about 3 years) but now don't know how to open and run them anymore. they are TCL Files (.tcl). could you help me use them with a new version or how to install the old version of opensees?. I think I have installation files of the old version, but forgot how to do
Hi, i follow based on your video, but the version of 8.6.10 of tcl for windows as an .exe is not valid in activestate website, could you please let me know how to deal with this?
It is working,Thank you.If you don't mind please tell me any course or book if avaliable to learn opensees for structural engineering problems. This software is completely new to me and also I don't know coding or any other programming language.
Same error is appearing even i made the same steps that you made. Downloaded activetcl and pasted the file into the directory of activetcl (invalid command name "::tcl::tm::UnknownHandler")
Hi! Here's an installer for OpenSees 3.3.0, which works with Tcl 8.6.10.
github.com/ambaker1/OpenSees-Installer/releases/tag/v3.3.0.0
Thanks for linking the 8.6.10 build, that drove me nuts for a few minutes
Thanks. I was facing issues with tcl version. Finally, I have found solution here.
thank you, Alex! great work!
Big up! Alex great job!
great job 👏
Thanks Alex
For the Opensees version release 3.3.0, use the Tcl 8.6.10 and not Tcl8.6.11.1.
Could not get Tcl 8.6.10 installation file from Activestate. Is there any other way to get it?
