    When you need to zoom in on a pdf to read particularly small print or a detail in an image, I wonder if the screen refresh is a LOT more bothersome than simply turning a page. Especially compared to the Boox which has multiple refresh speed options specifically included to mitigate such issues with moving images, for example when reading a webpage. As a visually impaired person the fluidity and ease of pinch zooming like on a normal tablet is pretty important.

    The screen size is the silent deal maker for remarkable. I keep picking the RMPP up in preference over my Go 10.3 but I’m not really sure why, lol. Some part of my brain obviously prefers it.

      Same for me, and while pure text is crisper on the Go 10.3, anything with color, but also PDFs that do not reflow (i.e. papers and large textbooks), I know exactly why :-)

    2 minutes in this video shows exactly why remarkable pro is the best choice for academics right now in the eink space. Seeing all these textbook covers in colour is really something special. They look so dull in black and white in my remarkable one. of course look colourful in my iPad but is much pleasing to see them in colour in an eink device. I might compromise also on the glass because I start to realise that the glass is needed for the front light. But still I find not using passive Wacom stylus almost a deal breaker for me. My remarkable 1 stylus is not working any more without this being my fault but I do not care so much since I have 4 other Wacom stylus to do the job. This cannot happen with remarkable pro. If the pen is not working you need to order from them another one and until you receive it you cannot take any more notes. And it is not a pencil that is readily available like Apple Pencil for example. Nevertheless, my pro is shipped and I am receiving it this week. So excited!!

    I have the Boox Note Air 3C and have ordered the Remarkable Pro. I have a use case scenario for both.

      @jose-cp7et i did a master degree with my tab ultra c only. Almost never with my computer at uni. And 2 other students had a rm2. We all were really happy to do it like this. I ordered a paper pro for better color and a bigger screen (especially for reading comics). I was really fine enough with ma tuc

    Remarkable should have neoreader like boox have

    • @Artellico
      @Artellico  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I do agree, maybe not Neoreader like the Onyx Neoreader, of course, but a decent set of features. Because of the minimalist philosophy of reMarkable, they will likely never bump up the features to the same level as Boox, but at least more granular display and refresh settings, plus more precise cropping with auto-crop mode included. And this is possible with the given hardware, just up to their development strategy ...

      @@Artellico It is a pity they don't follow supernote's example of publishing their development plans so users know what is coming (if anything). I think Supernote call it their Roadmap.

    The only thing I am worried about is pixelated writing: I am planning to write in horizontal mode and then read in vertical, how do little letters look? For example having multiple indices like a_ij = v_i^k b_kj. Is rapidly zooming in and out a smooth process?

      I will look into this, actually this is something I need to check again myself in some levels of magnification with some LaTeX code ... but sorry busy tonight, will do tomorrow.

      Mechanical pencil mode partially alleviates that at least in my remarkable one.
