This is an awesome video; I have been using CS6 for many years and I’m still learning new techniques all the time, like the ones you use in this video. I like how you explain what you are doing while you are doing the work, giving the viewer the chance to see what brushes you use and also the settings that are applied to give the final results. I find that when some people make short videos the contents are condensed so much that lots of the techniques are skipped over and then are not very informative to the viewer rendering them almost useless as a learning tool, so you have made a good balance between very long videos and very informative ones. Thank you for sharing this type of video with us, passing on your skills and techniques, and also thank you for sharing your brush set to make our life at painting much easier.

For that particular method, the selection is the key. Which brush you use for the coloring isn't that important. You can go with any textured brush of your liking or even the default soft round brush.
How you reference doesn't disappear after you start using the brush and clicking around the program.When I start with reference like that, after I click to chose my brush is gone
