Chicago has been around for a long time, they are an awesome band of the 60's, 70's and 80's. They have so many great hits, try "I've Been Searching So Long", that's my favorite song.
notice how the drummer and the horns play exactly together on the riff between the chorus and the 2nd verse. Thes eguys [most of them] could read music, very precise musicianship. The type of music was known as "Jazz/Rock" at the time. Now people keep giving it different labels out of personal convenience of their own life time and slang.
You see how studio producers knew how to record a band like Chicago..Just get thier levels right, get them all in the same room, careful mike placement ,and let them do the rest.

The brass instrument with the slide is a trombone. The trumpet is opposite side to him. It is like a bugle with valves.

He got jumped at Dodger stadium and beat up. Peter was beyond cool in the early years. Great great tenor.
