Achilles expressions are the most realistic expressions anyone would make when they just died and suddenly some lady started to give you a tour you didn't ask for.
I was bummed when you guys were making less and less greek mythology videos, these videos are getting rarer by the day! I was glad to see you guys are making them again.
Odd that they didn't include the Titans during the tour of Tartarus. They are some of the most important figures in Greek mythology. When the Olympians won the war against the Titans, the latter were overthrown and banished to Hades. Since the Titans are primoridal forces of nature, they cannot be killed, so the Olympians had no choice but to imprison them in Tartarus, the darkest deepest depths of the Underworld. For all of eternity, the Olympians have to struggle to keep the Titans locked away, lest chaos be unleashed upon the world and disrupt the order of the Olympians. Since the Gods of Mount Olympus symbolize the faults and flaws of humanity, as well as what we strive to be, they also represent mankind's eternal struggle against chaos by upholding order through great effort and struggling. After all, it takes an individual of great strength, such as an Olympian, to overcome the Titanic forces of everyday existence.
Kinda did when they mentioned the Mourning Fields but felt it would be better if it had Asphodel meadows instead, such an overlooked realm between Elysium and Tartarus.
I liked Albert Camus’ nihilistic interpretation of Sisyphus as not torture but always having a motivation, a goal to reach. Because no matter what happens, he never gives up. He still, day in and day out, tries to push the boulder up the hill. He could easily give up, yet he never does.
@@markydenit's almost impossible to imagine him happy isn't it? You certainly can get rid of negative thoughts (Big Fan of Albert Camus btw, his take of society n governance is so deep and enriching) But just what reasons he could have had to be happy
You are not insane. That's just interesting - your imagination. If you believe such is absolutely true and real, now that is insanity. Because you've never been to the underworld so you don't know what it's like. (Aside from the fact that we don't even know underworld exists in the first place)
In game, it makes sense that Tartarus is the easiest region since it's the starting area. But it's funny how the worst zone is the easiest, while the best zone is Elysium, and that region has such annoying enemies.
When I hear Persephone mention Patroclus and Achilles suddenly tearing up, the first thought I had was the Song of Achilles and it actually popped up at the end! I love that book so much
And then there’s the realm of Asphodel, the “purgatory” of the underworld. Sadly goes overlooked a lot with its long list of listless inhabitants, but hey it beats Tartarus. (Except if you’ve played Hades; in which case it’s constantly on fire.)
When you're a skeleton, I doubt the sensation of burning remains. In the post game... . . . . . It's revealed the inhabitants of Asphodel are used to the lava. I like the cold, but if I were to spend the rest of my immortal soul in Asphodel, I'm pretty sure the form I would take would enjoy it.
3:56 Another mythological Greek figure known to have done a similar gruesome act was Lycaon - king of Arcadia - who was then punished by Zeus by being turned into a wolf.
What's that guy's name who Zeus had him bound to a mountain, every day a vulture swoops down to eat his liver while the guy is still alive. Only for his body to fully heal by nightfall and repeat the painful cycle once again.
Very well done (and thought out) animation. Great attention to detail, not only regarding Achilles but also about the distinction between the various facets of the underworld. Good stuff. Thanks.
