I mean homeboy already got an awful vibe from Kisaki at the start and he knew that he can’t convince Mikey alone with just a feeling that Kisaki is bad news, he needs evidence so he’s all like, “fine I’ll do it myself.” He planned to join Vahalla so he could observe Kisaki from the outside and his plans. He never intend to hurt Mikey or Toman, he wants to protect them and by doing so he needs to get rid of Kisaki since he already figured the dude’s a threat. I think he gives a pretty good way to show a different perspective of shonen in a way. We would sometimes see the book smart characters outsmarting the antagonist but for baji he uses street smart and I think it makes it unique for expanding for unique writing

Notice how Chifuyu's voice changed, after Baji humbled him. It was deeper beforehand, implying that he was purposely altering the tone. I could be wrong, but if not. That is a nice detail, considering many teenage guys do that 'croaking' trick with their voice.
When Baji said it would make his mom cry when he is going to be held back sincerely it now just makes his mom devastated when he * spoiled alert * Died.

Nah he’s not. He only realized kisaki was bad news because he just happened to hear his conversation with mikey. Also most of the people in toman opposed kisaki, even the captains didn’t know what mikey was thinking. ALSO kisaki is a genius, even if you found him out he’d just eliminate you or make it seem as though he’s not a bad dude 🌝🌝

Being shocked at that isn’t abnormal or anything, especially considering what happens afterwards, everyone fleeing and mikey brutally murdering kazutora
