1979 ൽ (അന്നെനിക്ക് 15 -16 വയസ്) തൊടുപുഴയിൽ നിന്നും ചേലച്ചുവടിനുള്ള ( കുളമാവ് ഇടുക്കി വഴി) CTC എന്ന ഒരു ബസിൽ ഉള്ള യാത്രയിൽ , തൊട്ടടുത്തു വന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു ഖദർ ദാരിയെ ഞാനത്ര കാര്യമാക്കിയില്ല . എന്നാൽ അയാൾ തന്നെ മുൻകൈ എടുത്തു സ്വയം പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി , പിന്നെ ഇടുക്കി വരെ ഉള്ള യാത്രയിൽ നിർത്താതെ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു , കൂടുതലും ksu എന്ന പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തെ കുറിച്ചായിരുന്നു . സംസാരിക്കാനുള്ള അയാളുടെ കഴിവിനെ എന്തോ അന്നേ എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു , എന്തോ കാരണത്താൽ അത് ഇന്നും ഞാൻ ഓർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. കാഴ്ച്ചയിൽ ആകര്ഷണീയത അന്നും ഇല്ലാതിരുന്ന പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട പീ റ്റി തോമസ് ആയിരുന്നു അത് . പിന്നീട് ഒരിക്കലും അയാളുമായി സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല
