Since dragons are the only creatures that can ferry between the 16 realms, it would make sense that their power would be connected to the merge.

I actually think that since evil/dark (Overlord/oni) or any thing that represent evil in Ninjago is gone the realms had to merge to keep the balance in check.
@@josephmaller592 incorrect...the Oni were repelled from Ninjago, not destroyed and the Overlord isn't gone...he is literally unable to be killed

I think both the Firstbourne and the Source Dragons are at the level of Power where you can easily call them "Gods" and be fine Like that. Also, am I the only One Who thinks that Imperium capturing the Source Dragon caused the merge?
Let me elaborate this further:
The Firstbourne Is likely a Goddess of Creation Who would have a counterpart in the First ever Oni Who would be a God of Destruction. The FSM would then be either a God of Balance, a God of Light (with the Overlord as a counterpart being a God of Darkness) or even both.
I feel Like it's possible that the Source Dragons played a part in the Creation of most realms and as such are able to influence them. Perhaps they are heralds of a higher being (the FSM, the Firstbourne or maybe a new God we still haven't seen).

Yeah, but even though Firstbourne is the mother of all dragón the source dragon is infinitely more powerful, source dragon claimed to havethe power to destroy realms in a single claw. Which is nothing Firstbourne can do.
Yes, but there hasn't been any confirmation Firstbourne can't do that. I might be wrong but I still think she's stronger

I guess the Oni could have their own version, top is source dragon for both Oni and dragon, than the Firstbourne as opposed to the Omega Oni, than the Matriarch/Patriarch dragon or for the Oni, the 3 Oni warlords. Then regular dragons and Oni. Then below that you could put part blooded Oni (you could not put Garmadon here because technically the Overlord made him even more powerful so he’s on a higher leve).
Yeah, tough if we follow this idea we'd Need a new, stronger Oni

I had suspected that maybe the source dragons were a different faction of dragon that fled the first realm and evolved into source dragons over the millennia.

Well whatever every dragons strengths and powers are the source dragon in the imperium sphere seems to be bigger than Firstbourne and he also (telepathically) said that he has the ability to shatter Imperium into pieces

The Source Dragons are, to my interpretation, the source of everything in the universe. One does not simply evolve unlimited power, and I also don't think the source dragons could flee the first realm as they exist beyond the 16 realms. I haven't finished watching the new 10 episodes yet, so who knows.
I wonder how many source dragons there are in total and I can’t wait to see/learn more about them in part 2 and beyond.
Well we have technically seen 2 Source Dragons, the one in imperium and the one in Lloyd's vision. (unless they are the same)... but maybe it's to do with the strange symbols in Lloyd's vision again, maybe they represent a different Source Dragon.
Just imagine what would happen if Imperium Got it's hands on Firstbourne.

The OG dragon hunters knew the ninjas had a connection to dragons because of there powers they were so much smarter than imperium and they failed I don’t think impeirium stands a chance
@@chrisblanchard8807 they simply knew different things due to having different circumstances, doesn't make them smarter. A'm guessing that in the pre-merged realm of Imperium that the empire had less access to dragons thus prompting more "strategic" or "advanced" siphoning of draconic power. The knowledge that the Hunters had was more in line of elemental abilities, not so much of the dragons' life force. This makes more sense (at least to me) because the Hunters are shown enslaving the dragons whilst Imperium used them more like batteries.

Could the Oni have a chain like this? all the random Oni are level 1, the Oni Warlords are level 2 Matriarch/Patriarch, Omega unless there was a firstbourne Oni at Level 3, and a Source Oni?
I think all the random Oni are Level 1 Omega is Level 2 and the Oni Warlords are Level 3
This reminds me of greek mythology. Just because you are the firstborn of your kind does not mean you are the most powerful one of your kind and your offsprings might be more powerful than you.

yep the Primordials got overthrew by their children aka the Titans and the Titans got overthrew by their children aka the Gods. Also if all the realms existed before the birth of the FSM would this mean a higher being exists similar to him and the FSM is like an avatar and that might explain how he knows about the merge and stuff?

Soooo.....the Matriarch is not a Source Dragon...while at the same time was shown on a scroll in episode 2 with Lloyd claiming it as a Source Dragon...riiiiight...
Then what breed is Riyu supposed to be exactly? I thought he was a Source Dragon, how else could he do the same thing the Matriarch can do? Does that make Riyu a Matriarch then? What in the huh in the what huh?!

It was always weird to me that the matriarch dragon was a source dragon and was not nearly as powerful as the captured source dragon who claimed a single claw could destroy a whole realm, if the matriarch dragon could do that she could easily beat those imperium soldiers and not require Lloyd’s support. Also Lloyd’s charge of the source dragon was more powerful than the Matriarch power charge.
Yep and that big source dragon said that due to his power it would greatly affect and change Lloyd. Unlike Riyu and the Matriarch dragons power level which is less and they don't have an affect on the realms or Lloyd!
Do you remember paintings on oni Temple wall? I assume that Oni similarly may also have levels and on 95% omega is not on lvl4 i just remind we heard about their powers which we have not even seen so i think there could be more oni which are way more powerful than Omega

Me personally there should be 5 levels. Normal Dragons, Elemental Dragons, Matriarch/Patriarch Dragons, Firstbourne, and Source Dragons.
Elemental dragons are no "real" dragons.

What interests me is which is older, Firstborn or the Source Dragons? Firstborn is canonically the First Dragon from The First Realm. If Source Dragons are more powerful, does that also mean they're older (that's usually how the power scaling for ancient creature types works). Could they be considered another species entirely that only resembles Dragons?
i think firstborn is older since she is the mother of all dragons while the source dragons are probably her first and most powerful set of children its like garmadon and lloyd where the son is more powerful than the parent

No she’s the mother of all dragons with all there powers you can’t be older than your mother
we know that the oni left the first realm long before the "hunted" season, perhaps dragons also left around that time. Since some dragons were known to steal powers, perhaps they stole power from the underworld realm (forgot the name) then perhaps this made them a source dragon, garmadon went there then was physically able to hold the weapons of spinjitsu. another thing that could logically make sense is that they stole source magic from different realms that could then show why they are "source" dragons

According to my theory, Firstbourne is the mother of dragons with the power of creation. Perhaps the source dragon and the dragon of creation are different races.

Nah firstbourne canonically has the powers of every dragon meaning she has source dragons powers and riyu so I still think she’s the most powerfull

Well, that depends if the ninja ever pay a visit to a section of Ninjago that used to be the first realm of course that depends if the first realm why is one of the realms that merged with Ninjago

Source dragons are most likely older than the firstbourne.1st because their elemental power is strong enough to match reality and even power imperium for years. 2nd it could be either way since the firstbourne has all the elements of creation

He is Not a confirmed Source Dragon and the Matriarch is not His confirmed mother.

What is the ultra dragon though? Because yes, it is still made up of normal dragons but there are 4 of them so I think that should be level 2 and then every one after that just moves up a level

So despite being a baby Riyu more powerful than a Matriarch dragon? he is able to share his power when Sora needs it Firstbourne is the mother of all dragons and that Source dragon did say he would be able to wipe out the whole city with just one claw

The problem is that she didn't even do shit against the oni but instead she ran while source dragon is capable of destroying all the 16 realm with single claw basically he can eliminate all the onis with absolute ease he is literally the strongest beside overlord and fsm

@@AbbasAlqattanIt was stated that the Oni are capable of erasing entire kingdoms (in seasons 9 and 10), and it was also not stated that the Source Dragon could destroy the Entire REALM with one claw, only the Imperium. Most likely, this meant a planet, not a Kingdom. However, Source Dragons, through rifts in the fabric of reality, can still destroy worlds without making an effort

I think the source dragons are older becuz firstbourne can’t be the first dragon someone has to give birth to her right.. so i think there where already source dragons who gave birth to firstbourne and she became the first elemental dragon but not the first dragon.. and who is the husband of firstbourne a source dragon? Who knows hope we will find that out soon.

firstbourne is probably the first dragon created by the universe to represent creation then she gave birth to all the other dragons the source dragons being some of the first and they ended up being more powerful then her

First realm
I just can't make sense of the whole thing with Firstborn, it is explicitally stated that she is the mother of dragons, so shouldn't that make her the mother of the source dragons too? Why are they exeptions if not? If firstborn is the mother of dragons then her and the first Oni were the first beings in the first realm, making them the oldest things that can exist unless something predated the Oni and Dragons.
Even if Firstborn is their mother, that doesn't neccessarily mean that the source dragons can't be more powerful than her, though it does speak to some serious power creep, we never got a sense of Firstborn's power, we see her lose twice but it was to an army of Oni including her counterpart: The Omega, and also to Garmadon's Oni titan, during season 9, Garmadon was at his full potentual, putting him at at least half the strength of the first spinjitsu master assuming his power was divided equally amoungst his sons. This also puts him just above half the power of the Overlord, all of this being a minimum.
The point is that at this point in the timeline Garmadon was amoung the strongest things we've seen, so losing to his titan, which represents his true potentual does not make Firstborn weak.
That said, my issue is that the power scaling up until season 10 is actually pretty consistant with the only wild cards being ghosts, djin magic, and the time twins, only because you can't quantify those powers. Power creep was largely avoided throughout those seasons with Lloyd's golden ninha form and the Overlord Golden master remaining the strongest thing we've seen, which equaled the might of the four golden weapons, and most things could be scaled to that level.
The 11 minute era didn't break too much with the Overlord seemingly having the same power level as he did in season 2 since the four golden weapons can once again defeat him. The one outlier was Woejira with her eledgedly being too powerful for the First Spinjitsu master to defeat alone, scaling her as the most powerful thing on the series, and yet Nya can defeat her.
And then dragons rising comes along and strongly implies the source dragons to be more powerful than anything, with one eledging that it could destroy the entire world by mistake, something all the Oni couldn't really accumplish while actively trying to do so. I just feel it's a bit cheap to raise the power ceiling this much without much buildup or foreshadowwing, since suddenly one of these dragons scales above the overlord, firstborn, the first spinjitsu master and all the Oni.
It just bothers me because Ninjago has historically been pretty good at not raising the power cap, and seeing that streak so casually broken feels weird.
