I just finished replacing my clutch but I can't seem to get the linkage set. I know I'm supposed to put it in 4th gear but I don't know where that is on the transmission.

Hi there! On my shift linkage ( I think lower control rod) towards the front of the vehicle is missing bushings. I suppose they rotted out! Do you know how to remove that pin so I can put new bushings on? I've tried punching it out but either side of the pin there are flattened pin "heads" that both exceed the diameter of the center pin going through. Hopefully I didn't make things confusing lol.

I don’t quite understand, you don’t have to use Kia part, you can use any other manufacturer or aftermarket part that can fit and didn’t make any shatters when driving especially on freeway. You can use zip tie too but it won’t hold as good as bushing. My 2 cents

Rich Lujan Drums Have you tried zip tie? Find one that big enough to keep the linkage from shattering when on 5th gear freeway high speed

Rich ,,I fixed mine today ,,,the rear joint at the front is secured by a rivet,,you must replace this with a bolt.
Remove the shift rod from the car .
Grind off the thinner head of the rivet with an angle grinder ,then punch it out and separate the joint. Replace the rivet pin with a bolt and fit steel washers on the inside and outside to take up any space, Drill out the smaller hole so the bolt can go through. Cut some hard plastic tube or pipe to fit inside the tube so the bolt fits snug ,,apply grease all over ,Use a nyloc nut but not too tight ,,,maintain movement in the joint, and threadlocker so it doesn't come loose.
Do this and it will feel like a new car.

Not that helpful for a DYier. Might as well take it to a mechanic.

Wow, this is actually a video? Why not show the replacement process? I really dislike people that talk about replacing parts instead of actually doing it. You are getting a thumbs down from me
