As someone who has a culminated 5 scars (7 if you count permanent cracks in the bone, and unknown if you count stretch marks) that line about scars has always resonated me cuz while I've met people who sees scars as a reminder of a bad time, I see them as a symbol of survival. They act as a reminder that "if I can build back months worth of of atrophied muscle without even counting learning to walk again, whose to say I can't work hard enough to get this in on deadline?"
