The thing I like about Skillet music is that, while it’s supposed to be related to God and whatnot (What else would you expect from a Christian band?), the songs are written so that the lyrics make perfect sense with or without religious context. It gives the listeners this freedom of interpretation that I can respect. Rock on, Skillet! Rock on!
That's on thing I also love about Skillet, I'm a Christian myself but it's so beautiful to see that a Christian Band can make music that can relate to anyone whether or not that person's religious and even sometimes { well quite many times actually } Just because of Skillet's music, it even saved people's lives who where struggling with depression and were having a tough time (and most of that people were non-Christians) and even other times they got to help people turn to God. But their music is completely for everyone. That's the Most Amazing Thing. Hopefully other Christians or if not then other people could see their works or just love their music cause Skillet is kinda Underrated yet their proving to be one of the Best and Most Talented Musicians out there....

Maybe 10 years ago this would be true but they are very very popular now-a-days. I started listening to them right as Comatose was released. No one really knew who they were back then at all.
I never knew Skillet was a Christian band till I attended the concert in my state a few months back. It was really cool. The concert was so epic, even the opening acts were amazing. Skillet was my first ever concert I attended and honestly I would love to go to another one of their concerts. This was definitely the highlight of 2021 for me.
John Cooper and I share something in common. My Christian music journey started with Petra. As a teen growing up, Petra was awesome! Not only Petra, but Mylon & Broken was where I started loving Christian Rock. Then I was blessed to start listening to Skillet. Also, Jen Ledger reminds me of another drummer that I love, Louie Weaver. Wow, seeing Louie Weaver play in Petra was awesome. I'm very excited about Skillet being in Winter Jam this winter. i was obsessed with Skillet, my dad and i for years would blast their music and he and my mom noticed how much i loved them and bought tickets to see them back in 2019, there was other bands there and it was down by the Peoria River. My mom took me that night, i brought my littler camera was so so excited. When skillet was up i pushed my little 10 year old body to the front in the mosh pit. my mom was worried but all the skillet fans were very nice and made sure i didn't get hurt. The guitarist threw me a pick and a drunk girl took it from me, but it is still my favorite memory/ I'm now 15 and I'm training to be a firefighter.

It depends of what kind of metal you’re listening to. I get angry when I listen to the metal that cusses. I mean, I cuss but something about metal and cussing together just makes me mad for reason. I personally love Breaking Benjamin. It doesn’t cuss, it has mix of emotions and messages in their songs and it’s just really good music and well made lyrics

i was obsessed with Skillet, my dad and i for years would blast their music and he and my mom noticed how much i loved them and bought tickets to see them back in 2019, there was other bands there and it was down by the Peoria River. My mom took me that night, i brought my littler camera was so so excited. When skillet was up i pushed my little 10 year old body to the front in the mosh pit. my mom was worried but all the skillet fans were very nice and made sure i didn't get hurt. The guitarist threw me a pick and a drunk girl took it from me, but it is still my favorite memory/ I'm now 15 and I'm training to be a firefighter.

The only other positive Metal band I can think of is Killswitch Engage
It depends of what kind of metal you’re listening to. I get angry when I listen to the metal that cusses. I mean, I cuss but something about metal and cussing together just makes me mad for reason. I personally love Breaking Benjamin. It doesn’t cuss, it has mix of emotions and messages in their songs and it’s just really good music and well made lyrics
ATRRIX Killswitch Engage doesn’t cuss at all plus their current vocalist is Christian though they aren’t a Christian metal band

I feel that - night can be the best time to listen to hard rock/metal, but I will be killed if I wake my sister up. She's actually heading off to residency in June and my dad often works out of town, so I will actually be able to be 'badass at 2 am' with only my cat to witness.
