While there 'are' video's of people obviously going out of their way to get fruit-eating animals drunk, this does happen all the time in the wild naturally.

I've seen squirrels get drunk off of fermenting mulberries in my yard. It's hilarious once you realize what's going on and they're not rabid or sick.
Why would a squirrel be rabid? They're not carnivore

it's honestly kind of worrying to hear someone think rabies requires being a carnivore because of how dangerous this disease is. it is extremely contagious and deadly and knows no species barriers. please tell a doctor IMMEDIATELY if you are bitten by an animal that is behaving in a bizarre way, as rabies can lie "dormant" in the body for years, long enough to forget it, before displaying symptoms, and once the symptoms start it's too late for treatment.

@@jeffk1482 Don't do it. You'll kill the animals. You'd end up poisoning them. In nature, they know what they're doing. Birds do it all the time, magpies with fermented mountain ash trees for example. But the squirrel may avoid the tree in the future. Please just let them be, friend.

I looked up rabid squirrels and as I thought, although they may be unbalanced in their gait, they also froth at the mouth & are aggressive. 1 out of 3 ain't bad. Research is a cool thing too. Here in Texas, we call those 'crabapple' trees~ "bodark" (Bois de arc). The wood is electric yellow when cut, and it makes THE BEST Indian style self bows. In fact the Indians of Okla. & Texas used to trade that wood to the northern tribes because due to it's superior hardness & springiness it made the best short bows for horse-back buffalo hunting. Great video!

Unfortunately yes. After my son was born my husband and I went out for a few drinks when he was 6 mnths old. I hadn't had a drink since my pregnancy so it didn't take much to get me drunk. I remember my best friend was babysitting our son and I was totally drunk when I got home and felt like I was going to get sick. She lifted the lid to our toilet for me to get sick in, and I slammed my face into the porcelain god and bit a hole into my bottom lip from my front tooth hitting the porcelain toilet seat. I was bleeding profusely, getting sick at the same time, it was a NIGHTMARE! My husband had to stay home from work the next morning because I was so sick and hungover, plus I had a fat, swollen bottom lip that hurt like hell. I didn't drink again for over 2 yrs. Worst.Hangover.EVER!!!

Up until I was about 17 years old we had a dairy farm. We had a 50 foot tall upright silo that we filled with corn silage in the late summer every year. As the weight of the silage compressed it would squeeze out liquid at the bottom of the silo. We had one cow that would stand at the bottom of the silo and lick up the liquid and get drunk everyday until the liquid eventually stopped flowing.
But her milk was the most sold in the stores. LOL

thankyou for the filmers for seeing the fun and sweetness in this. i could hear the dog at first and was scared you would let the dog out to hurt him...this squirrel was so amazingly cute that i swear as soon as i can i will be planting a crabapple tree. i just love squirrels and would be in heaven watching them drunk. shoot, they are funny as heck when they are not intoxicated!
