    can confirm, he ain't lip syncing. has voice cracks & slight out of key moments. the ONLY reason there is auto-tune at all is to make his voice fit with the song. remember the album is incredibly electronic like the weeknd, they're not using it to correct a wrong note but instead so it sounds slightly glitchy & vibes with the synth soundscapes present when the drummer first comes in. it's actually a genius move to use auto-tune in the way that they did. don't silly this band with cheating live, this is what i like to see not just a gig but a whole production/show. my only gripe here is Bad Omens should only be scheduled to play at night time during festivals. when you experience what they've put together in a dark club setting it's a whole worlds away from this performance.

      I'd also add that the new stuff wouldn't sound as good if they used Noah's raw mic without reverb or backing vocals. They're pretty much playing pop music with heavily distorted guitars, and you need vocals to cut through instruments, just bringing Noah up in the mix wouldn't be enough. I feel like Linkin Park ran into this a lot, Chester would sing his ass off every concert but sometimes he'd just get fucked over by the PA and the vocals would sound weak due to the half dozen other instruments going full blast behind him.

      I totally agree with using backing vocal samples live or backing tracks in general, especially in this kind of music. But real-time pitch correction is some kind of a new level. I mean what would be the downside of not using real-time autotune? That he would sing flat sometimes just as other singers? Would that be something to be ashamed of? I just don't get that aspiration for delivering the perfect live perfomance at any cost. I mean aren't the flaws, the roughness, all these little imperfections etc the things that bring a live performance to life? For me it just takes away a lot of the fragility and this is an emotional fragile song. I also think that it sends a weird signal/sets a questionable standard for other/younger rock and metal bands.

      Noah has actually has said multiple times that he doesn't use autotune live. They have the backing vocals from their albums in the Front of House mix, but no autotune on Noah's raw vocal mic. Just killer technique and an incredible sound guy at the board, on top of that Just Pretend is a FUCKED hard song to sing at the best of times hence the imperfections in this performance.

    Damn the beginning of that note proves he’s lip syncing 😢 they didn’t have the auto tune correctly so it was off and if you didn’t notice he’s always touching his ear piece. Like who does that.

    • @fxrgvnofficial
      @fxrgvnofficial ปีที่แล้ว +13

      There many singers nowadays that use autotune live. Plus to that, that ear piece is a in-ear monitoring system. almost every singer has that on a live performance. Yes, he often has his hands on it, but that's to put it back in when it slips out. And he's turning up/down the volume of it on his lower back. Noah doesn't lipsync at all. He sings on his own and has some backing vocals to support harder singing/growling parts

      I wholeheartedly disagree. I'm not a musician, but the opening note shows EXACTLY that he's not autotuned. Small errors or trying to find the right high note as the first note of a song proves he's human and not perfect. I thought it was great, and he is absolutely singing live.

      @@LauraRocksDenver well said!! If you listen closely to the entire song, there’s literally tons of small imperfections in the notes. My guys is singing this song 100 percent and it’s amazing

      @@cambrowndrums EXACTLY!!!! Why would someone lip sync if they were supposedly IMPERFECT? The lip sync should be perfect if that were the case. Agree agree agree!
