Grindmarks on the scale? you can try and put some oil on it, darkens up frn.
knives in frn have almost always sharp corners. i take them off and go over with sandpaper, lightl coat of oil over it, you will not see a difference

Not sure if they’re grind marks. They look more like discolorations; as though no color was there in the first place. I’ll try oil, but worn FRN usually wears pretty evenly for me.
