My favorite guitar part by my favorite guitarist! People forget what an incredible rhythm player EVH was (aside from being THE best lead). RIP Eddie! We miss you!
There are guys who play solos that I prefer to EVH, but when you add in his riffs he is my number 1. This song, unchained… really anything from this album is amazing.
YES, this is the real reason why hagar - satriani sounds like a cover garage band. satriani is an oustandign player, but he is a solist guitar player, he barely play rhythmic guitar, so he has some issues to play rhythm and jump to solist parts
Blown away! Dave still has the dexterity in his vintage years! Eddie and Alex are true masters!! And Wolfgang bringin that thunder!! Mofo’s bringin it!
What an outstanding performance. I know that Dave edited this live performance for the Japanese audience. I'll even lay odds that it was his idea to record in Japan because the Japanese audience tends to remain silent during the song and only applauding between songs so that the artist can get a better recording. In any case the whole band sounds extremely tight, Dave sounds fantastic. And what's more, he still looks extremely fit! I will be forever grateful that Van Halen completed their journey with Eddie Dave and Alex together, the way they started.
Looks fit but I bet he isn’t. He doesn’t even try to his basic dance stuff. I understand the days of jumping split kicks off the drum riser are behind him but with modern medicine some roundhouse kicks should be included…
This pro shot show is just amazing, they're tight, and the sound quality and performance really shines and comes through. My only critique is there could be some crowd interaction, crowd shots and applause in the audio. Particularly in Japan where it's rather adorable to see them rocking out and having so much fun. It sounds like they're playing to an empty hall.
I totally agree, part of what I have been trying to say is that, Ed is actually part of his own tribute because he got to be in a band with his Brother Alex, his Son, and best friend Dave again. Ed will go on forever and everything will just be how it was. A Magical time.
I really like how after the free-form intro, Alex briefly sets the tempo for the song. A moment later, Eddie starts the riff, and it sounds like the drums join in, but it's actually the other way 'round.
MAN that was Excellent ! Eddie from a different Universe - Seems to me, some of the absolute BEST concerts recorded are in Japan for some reason ... 🤔 Extremely Well Done
The band was cooking as much as they ever did. Wolf is a mother F er on that bass. Alex is underrated - I miss Eddie being around. Maybe my favorite Van Halen song.
DLR sucks. He used to be the perfect fit for this rock n roll party band, but now his vaudeville/ big top circus act doesn't fit the rock n roll attitude. I'm a huge fan of the old VH, been a fan since I was old enough to pedal my bike to there back yard parties. This tour was a big money grab. DLR is a sack of worthless shit now. EVH didn't like his performances either.
3:52 this part is so cool. I love what David lee Roth brought to Van Halen. Even though he’s not the one of the greatest vocalists in rock, he’s one of the best front men in my opinion. He made their live shows so fun and entertaining
Dave is a huge follower of martial arts Vince is a HUGE follower of culinary arts. He has lost weight though so I'm happy for him. At 60+ that's very hard to do Come to think of it I like food too (and it shows)
I have heard and believe that David Lee Roth is responsible for this band being so great, They were named Mammoth, and they were renting equipment from David Lee Roth's Band Red Ball Jets. Roth also "helped" the band to change their name to Van Halen. I also believe the band is responsible for making David lee Roth so great. Watch this video from 2:49 to 2:54. Eddie switches pedals 3 times and changes pickups and changes volume, Thats only 5 seconds of one song. Great timing, couldn't imagine Van Halen not being a thing.
This is the official video feed that was shown on the big screen behind them. That's why there's only couple of angles. Director of the show uploaded this and other shows on his now deleted channel.
Of course it's amazing and it's original, but if you listen closely and compare Eddie to the studio recording you should know he deviates and makes a mistake here and there, so give Joe Satriani some love.
One of the greatest rock riff songs of all time..
One of the Greatest Guitar Intros of all time IMO
This concert should be on BluRay for us older VH junkies
Found it on Ebay
Great idea !!
"Mean Street" will always be my favorite song by Van Halen. Rest easy, Eddie
Yes quintessential VH
I like it too, but do not recall hearing it until 2024 (born 1960)
The guitar in this song is unreal, not a wasted note
This dam groove is just sooo great

He could really lay down a nice groove and keep it in the pocket. Then just go off in different directions. One of a kind.
YES, this is the real reason why hagar - satriani sounds like a cover garage band. satriani is an oustandign player, but he is a solist guitar player, he barely play rhythmic guitar, so he has some issues to play rhythm and jump to solist parts
Man ..no wonder EVH is STILL my number one guitar player!.... Masterful....
He brings tears to my eyes, the late Eddie Van Halen. 😢
At 0:28 Dave and Al gave the bro-fist🤜🤛 to each other....love it
Wolfgang's bass runs are stellar!
Blown away! Dave still has the dexterity in his vintage years! Eddie and Alex are true masters!! And Wolfgang bringin that thunder!! Mofo’s bringin it!

That's a good observation...the quieter Japanese audience...it sounds amazing and they are on it man !! 💯💪
What year was this concert?
@@daveyboy8907concert was 2013, released as live album in 2015
@@edwardskol1812 thanks
Nothing short of incredible. I wish Dave would have performed like this for all their tunes on this tour.

Maybe my favorite Van Halen song.
Шикарный фронтмен и связка братьев Ван Хален 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
I miss Eddie Van Halen, may he R.I.P.🎸🙏🏻Great video, thank you for sharing👍🏻ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
Again we see that EVH was eons ahead of everyone else. Awesome job!
I had the pleasure of going to Van Halen in 1979 at The Cape Cod Coliseum for $8.50 I was 14 years old and it was very special.
Wolfy was killing it on the bass.. damn that kid is smooth with it!
Eddie's playing sicker than ever
Thx so much, we appreciate it ♥️🇺🇲
What a great performance of one of my favorite VH songs! RIP Eddie...
Man that shuffle is obscene..... alex is wicked
Outstanding video good sound vid quality dave vocals great thanks for posting the great band van halen!❤🇬🇧
We all know that Dave sometimes suck, but here he kick ass, Eddie and Al always...and Wolf got some chops...the kid can definitely play...
Wrong, that's Sammy Hagar not DLR.
Nah, he sucks live here too.....
DLR sucks. He used to be the perfect fit for this rock n roll party band, but now his vaudeville/ big top circus act doesn't fit the rock n roll attitude. in a word, GREAT !! For those of you out there that grew up on VH you get it !!
3:52 this part is so cool. I love what David lee Roth brought to Van Halen. Even though he’s not the one of the greatest vocalists in rock, he’s one of the best front men in my opinion. He made their live shows so fun and entertaining
4:44. "Wow!" DLR realizing how awesome this moment is, hearing father & son ripping. Great video!!
Omfg. That makes me so content with being completely and utterly obsessed with every aspect of the electric guitar RIP EVH
So good
DLR Number 1 ❤
Dave is sounding damn fine here! And Eddie is fantastic.
Bass, is a Riffin' ....
I think that is my fav EVH guitar, black and white striped, so cool.
Everyone on fire here !
Dave's sounds bet than vinse neil. And he stayed in shape.
Dave is a huge follower of martial arts
Vince is a HUGE follower of culinary arts.
He has lost weight though so I'm happy for him. At 60+ that's very hard to do
Come to think of it I like food too (and it shows)
RIP. Thank you Eddie 😢
Thank you !
no one will ever come close to the maestro
Dave's singing is solid and the bass sounds great too.
Wow!
Dave sounds different for sure, the timings off as he sets up the notes. But he has impressive range and control for a geezer!
He deserves the respect. Other bands would have touched up his vocals. He was good in this.
Has “Push Comes to Shove” really never been played live?
Goosebump city
Short seven years later he's gone.
🙏So geil. Eddie, i miss you!
Of Course the lighting fucks up Ed's intro.
Thanks. I'll stick to the studio version.
😐
cool..... dang nice...
Eddie tearing it up🎸⚡☠️
BIGGEST solo !!!

Ed was the best,RIP Master 🙏🏻🕊️🌹
Killer song iconic band miss Mike he should be there its not right !!
cool filming but a thing bizarre , why it change only at the end of the song (camera mix ) ?
This is probably just the video feed that they used on that big screen behind them.
ok. i see....thanks very much ....i already check other clips from the same show, it change more often, cool footage ....
Eddie was the star and dave couldn't handle it
Eddie could have lived to 80 and he still would shred.
Eddie brings it!
That riff is impossible to play
Except by EVH, the 🐐
I love Eddie
Wolfe is a totally BOMB musician.
3:25 I hear you Wolf
Missing those Michael Anthony backing vocals.
Last and best
I wonder if Dave was letting the camera man know how he felt about him recording the show. 😂
Dave sounds terrible. Still love him.
Any modern cellphone can record in 4k. Mounting one on a tripod and hitting record hardly means it's "ProShot"
This is the official video feed that was shown on the big screen behind them. That's why there's only couple of angles. Director of the show uploaded this and other shows on his now deleted channel.
Give it up for Wolfgang.
How about a spotlight? Wake up
What year was this?
Of course it's amazing and it's original, but if you listen closely and compare Eddie to the studio recording you should know he deviates and makes a mistake here and there, so give Joe Satriani some love.
Sammy who?
Nope, can't stand lounge singer Dave. I prefer my memories from the 84 concert.
Stop!!!
You aren’t VH!
Comon now.
Blah
How much more Van Halen do you needThere is 3 Van Halen's on stage🙄Show some respectROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
Dave sounds awful
Best geezer frontman goes to Dave
This sucks
❤❤❤
Best record from VH?
Dave never met a camera he didn't like! LOL
