  • Hello final year LLB students
You will be required to choose elective modules to complete your degree. Using Unisa’s elective module list, I give advice on modules which are of use in practice
    Hope it helps :)

For students not in /going to Unisa, I advise you watch this with your institution' s prospectus or brochure so you can find similar modules. For eg: us at Tuks, something similar to "Legal aspects of electronic commerce" that Sis Atle spoke of is "Info and Communication Technology law"

    Good Day Atli,
You know what my girl, I will never grow weary of you speaking and sharing the knowledge you have in this grand profession. Every time I press play on these videos I know that I leave here even more empowered than before. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me since Law TH-cam videos ever commenced❤💐. You are the best and I speak for myself here.
So I did my little research on some/one of the full-time universities, their modules as well as their electives for final year and I came across the following electives:
    1. Capita Selecta: Mercantile Law
    (including Intellectual Property
    Law, Insurance Law (with Third
    Party Compensation Law) and
    Competition Law)
    2. International Trade Law
    3. Social Security Law
    4. Cyber Law
On the above 4, I am finding or thinking that Cyber law might be an interesting and worthwhile path to embark on. Obviously because of the current day and age we live in where almost everything is conducted online and digital and so if I am not mistaken the opportunities are quite lucrative - Please confirm or deny for me if you can and if there's anything you can advice on regarding pairing this with anything else or is it perfect all on its own?
And then I researched under post-graduate studies and I came across an interesting one for me: LLM in Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts, but its under MASTER OF LAWS BY COURSEWORK. I don't quite understand the difference between that and MASTER OF LAWS BY DISSERTATION, So if you can enlighten me on those two I will be grateful 🙏🙏
Another one that you spoke of at the end, Conveyancing and Notary public at LEAD. Do you by any chance know if one wants to add this to their Law studies/Law degree that they can be funded for these or one would have to fund themselves?
That view in Zanzibar is truly something magical😍😍✨✨ I miss watching your travel vlogs babe. Hope you'll bring them back soon🙂
    Thank you Atli❤

I have a keen interest in public law and that is why I ended choosing Education Law and International Human Rights Law. Picking modules that have some sort correlation is something I too would reccomend. These modules are extensive in research and International Human Rights Law allows students to learn more about International Law, which is a topic that is only covered by one module in LLB studies. #UNISASTUDENT :)

I’m a final year LLB student at the University of Limpopo . Environmental law, Tax, IP are compulsory. For electives we have
    -Alternative Dispute resolutions
    -Conflict of Laws
    -Bookkeeping
    -Cyber Law
    -Administration of Deceased estate.
    -Advanced criminal law
    -Advanced Labour law
I had decided on Bookkeeping and Administration of Deceased Estate but I’m curious about the importance and demand of cyber law in practice.

I understand that you have compulsory modules and you also have to choose 1 module from three modules as an addition. The modules are`: 2 in criminology and 1 in the role of language in South African context (multilingualism).

    • @atleganggovuza6733
      @atleganggovuza6733  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Most specialisations require practice I.e. you can’t avoid articles but you can choose to work in a bank as a compliance officer, or a company that has legal analysts or legal consultants. Some people are legal advisors/ legal managers having not done articles, eg completing a graduate program and staying in the company after that. It depends whether the in house role requires you to be an admitted attorney or not.
