    I remember really wanting an Athearn GP9 with that C of G paint scheme in my youth back in the early 1960s. There was just something about it that got me. After I grew up and could afford to actually buy locos I had forgotten about my old obsession and went for NKP black and yellow, probably because the NKP ran near my childhood home. Cheers from Wisconsin!

    Love the new heritage unit Tim. Would really like to see all of them Mu'd together one time. As for your creature in the woods, looked more like one of our snipers in a ghillie suit tromping around in the woods. Or is it what railfans need to do these days to stay one step ahead of the railroad cops? As always, you do not fail to amaze my friend!

    • @SeaboardCentral
      @SeaboardCentral  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! It might be possible to have them together at some point but I’ll need to redo the speed table on the SCL and Southern unit first to match the CG. I actually have plans to create two separate pools of power. One will be a Westend pool based out of Gadsden and one will be a Central pool based out of Macon. The Westend pool will handle Gadsden yard and the line west to Birmingham. It will have a lower top speed than the Macon pool. I’ll go over that in a video next year. Tim

I've meant to mention this in past, but I'm really impressed at your painstaking efforts have such a smooth operation with all of your switches. Awesome update sir, I always like the high nose locomotives. Br pretty cool to do a Seaboard Central patch job on a CSX road Slug set. The GP40-2 and a GP30 or GP35 slug. That would be a cool patch job set

    • @SeaboardCentral
      @SeaboardCentral  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I run slug sets at work with a GP40-2 mother mated with a slug. It may be a good idea on paper but they are some of the most unreliable set ups on the railroad. Too much wiring which ends up with some kind of failure, always. But the SC did accumulate some rebuilt GP30s and GP35s during 1990 so who knows, you might end up seeing one in the future. :)

    I like the new heritage locomotive and the meaning behind the 2000 road number. The abandoned spur looks great and shows the history of the line. Looking forward to the option B video. It has to be "Big Foot", but I was not sure exactly where he was, maybe to the right of the deer. -Tom

  • @beeble2003
    @beeble2003 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    People say the scary thing that lives in the woods is Timothy B. Garland. I don't think he's really scary, though -- he seems fine from three feet away. The railroad named a locomotive after him and they leave it unlocked so he can drive it around the yard at night.

      @@SeaboardCentralmaybe it could be Bigfoot or it could be a “Dogman,” a criptid with canine features that has the ability to walk on its hind legs but also reported to be on all fours when running (some of the time). Sasquatch and Dogmen don’t get along and have had wars over territory although Sasquatch yield was to the more aggressive Dogmen. These crypids have been known to manipulate doorhandles to try and access homes, unlocked car doors, unlocked windows (sometimes even moving an object to reach a SECOND STORY window), and are able to manipulate anything humans can as they are said to have hands or paws more akin to a raccoon. Most of these creatures are black in color with other fur tones being very rare like tan, white, or grey. People who have survived an encounter have said that there is an almost human level of malicious intelligence behind these criptid’s eyes. Most of the time they will scare you off so badly that people who love the outdoors commonly become terrified to the point they move to large population centers or always bring lots of friends and several firearms. This creature is also know to purposely go after pets to get people who live there in its territory to leave. Sometimes even attacking humans to get the point across (Missing 411 attributes missing persons cases to Dogmen instead of Bigfoot due to Bigfoot giving way to Dogmen in territory disputes and will even entirely vacate areas Dogmen move into in order to not tick the Dogmen off. And the Dogman’s lifepan is unknown but females and juveniles have be reported.
      I was able to find a website about five or more years ago that I can no longer find (made during the “dot com” boom of the mid to late 1990s as it was an HTTP website and not HTTPS). It had passenger down accounts of this creature going up to Native American villages and killing their dogs. When one was caught and killed they said “IT SCREAMED LIKE A MAN.”
