    I agree with your assessment of Taurus revolvers. I’ve owned many over the years and they’ve all been solid, dependable guns. I used to shoot a lot of revolvers in my younger years. Then I discovered Glocks. I had a Glock thing for about 20 years, now I’m having a revolver renascence. Great video sir, keep’em coming.

      Thanks for the comment! I love my revolvers. I don't think that they get the same respect as they used to.

      Agree. Love Taurus revolver. Especially the 357 Magnum 4 inch Tracker. I was also a big Glock guy. Who wasn't lol? But I discovered Canik and been loving those. I'm wanting a smaller carry. My 21 shot full size 9mm is too big for summer time. My TAURUS 85 is good but I want 6 shots instead of 5. How much is the 3 inch 856 compared to the snub 856?

    I own two. I have one with an all-stainless finish and the installed factory Hogue rubber grip and tritium front sight. My second one is finished in black. I kept the factory tritium front sight but replaced the rubber grip with a similarly styled wooden grip, also from Hogue. Both are fantastic little shooters.

    I have the 2 inch Matt black version and a Matt 605 3 inch. They are great revolvers for the money. It seems to me what you lose with Taurus over smith or colt is the finish. But for the price that’s not a big deal to me. It’s crazy cause these revolvers are basically the same gun just ones chambered for 357. Tue 856 trigger has broken in really nice the 605 is alittle newer but it’s much much heavier trigger pull just goes to show you never know what you will get . I have a g3c also and I can’t say enough good stuff about Taurus these days. You get a lot of gun for the money.

    Sir I have the 856 U.L. All Black Glow front sites. I need longer grips for my pinkie and I like the screw through the middle of the Grips. Thanks 👍🏿

      Check out VZ grips. You can go to their website or order them straight from taurus.

    Ths Houge Mono grip was larger but thinner! Felt awful in the hand. I was so surprised and disgusted at how bad it felt in my hand. I've learned to love the Taurus grip.

    I own lots of revolvers, Smith Ruger Colt Astra Taurus Manurhin, my Taurus model 65's have been just as reliable as any of them.

    There is another front sight in the box as well.

    The small grip, in my opinion, is much better on the 2 inch version. I have the 2 of the 2 inch and one of the 3 inch. The Hogue grip seemed to feel and function better on the 3 inch. I now have a large grip CT laser on the 3 inch. I like the feel of the Hogue better but I wanted the laser.

    I thought the 856 defender with the black cylinder automatically came with the black and gray VZ grips.

      @boxbox2300 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that model isn't listed on the Taurus website at least not with a black cylinder. It's also missing the night site , probably used ? I own the wood grip Tungsten Cerakote and it's a real nice shooter.

    I've been looking at this model , I've heard that Taurus is owned by S&W and the guns are identical. I can't make my mind up over the 605 5rd. 357/38. or the one you have 856 6rds 38spl.+P are probably hot enough for me so I'm leaning towards the 85-6 the 3" barrel is perfect length. I found on Amazon a owb pancake thumb brake Leather holster says it's for this model , and several different nice looking wood grips, I did find a Texas company that makes a beautiful rosewood scrolling engraved w/checkered 2 1/2 finger grip (pictured on line) look cool on BLK model. Thanks for your video Buddy

      It's an excellent firearm. I can definitely tell the difference between standard 38 and 38+P. It's what I run when I carry it. You will enjoy this gun for sure!

      @invictawarrior ปีที่แล้ว

      S&W and Taurus were at one time owned by the same "parent" company and it's been noted that since that time Taurus revolvers have looked a lot like and functioned very similar to what was then their sister company.

    Im looking at this point for another revolver and this one is on my list.. I have had a model 66 for the past 15 yrs with no issues.. You reviewed this a month ago, do you still love it.. I CC multiple different firearms and want to add a smaller than I have revolver in the rotation.. Have you carried this for hours at a time, is it comfortable to carry, would you trust your life to this gun.. Respectfully asking.

    • @drewledford9348
      @drewledford9348  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely would trust my life to it. I have only used it in an owb holster but I have worn it for hours at a time when working outside. It's a great gun. I prefer it over my Ruger LCRX.

      @@drewledford9348 Thank you for your response. I just found your channel and subscribed.. Some of the “big guys” on TH-cam get free stuff to review and I’m never really sure to trust what they say.. If your spending your hard earned money on something you want to make sure it’s worth it.. Thanks again.. I’ll keep watching. 👍🏻

      @Todd Ruch I appreciate it. I feel the same way. All the guns I review I have purchased with my own money. I don't really know how to edit. I just record. What you see is what you get. Any issues I find, I would definitely make it known. Thank you! 👍

      @@drewledford9348 I handled a Ruger LCRX with a 3" barrel at a gun shop recently and the clerk let me slip it in my front pants pocket to try it out for weight, it was light as a 22 and seemed like a perfect revolver to carry around, Why do you prefer the Taurus over the Ruger, is it harder to shoot accurately being so light? How does the Taurus compare in weight?

    • @drewledford9348
      @drewledford9348  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Blue Mouse I like both. I just prefer the Taurus. It is heavier but it also has a 6 shot cylinder. Ruger makes excellent revolvers, but Taurus has outdone themselves with the 856. I love it

    Most of the complaints come from rookies that shouldn't have a gun at all, I have a couple friends that have problems with their guns when they are shooting them, but when I shoot them no problems at all go figure?
