1999 was the first time id seen the mondays at v99 Staffordshire i knew theyd got back together then straight after Ian Brown in the big tent it was mental

I was there at both! Brown in the tent was mega, great atmosphere, I’m a big Mondays fan but that the way IB had made an unexpected comeback (after being written off) with a load of great new music gave it a special feeling. I was down the front for The Mondays and remember it being pretty rowdy!
@@lucasm3879I loved IB's comeback too it was the same when Shaun came back it's like messianic, you should have seen when Black Grape came out, the Gigs were mad, the Music Press & the Tabloids said that "there was more chance of Shaun Ryder dying than writing another Song" couple of years later they heard a track called Kelly's Heroes which was on a Floppy Disc doing the rounds at Music Fairs, then heard other tunes from the Debut & that was it they exploded. Was a great time while it lasted but the Debut LP was a Classic & if they'd gone away for a year like Shaun suggested that'd have been the Happy Mondays 5th Studio LP or so people thought, but I think No, different Players Danny Sabre the Producer wouldn't have been, I thought he was a great guy to have at the helm, it would have been Oakenfold & Osbourne I reckon? Anyway pretty ironic lp Title because I can finally say myself IGWYSY! 😎✌️

If someone had said to me, a couple of months ago, would you listen to over four hours of Paul Ryder’s life story I probably would’ve said, “hmm, not really sure to be honest.” But not only have I really enjoyed these every Sunday evening but I also really look forward to watching the next episode each time(!) Great stuff, but sad of course at the same time.
