I actually really like this car. It's not perfect, but unlike any VW group car at the minute it has character. This makes it more polarising for sure, but I'm on the positive side of that.
I saw one in a showroom and it caught my eye straight away (in a good way) took it for a test drive and bought it.... picking it up in a few days but we did not pay anywhere near the price mentioned
DS has a bit of an identity crisis here. As comfortable as a Citroen C3 Aircross albeit with much plusher materials but a whole lot more expensive, but not markedly better quality than a new Peugeot 2008 which happily trades in some of the ostentatiousness and a bit of ride comfort for something that's better to drive (if the new 208 is anything to go by), yet will likely cost a good deal less. The problem is, this isn't an issue confined to the DS 3 Crossback. Would you get a DS 7 Crossback instead of a 3008 or 5008 for anything other than the bling? The cheapest DS 3 Crossback will set you back £220pm and a near five grand deposit on personal lease from DS themselves for three years and 10,000 miles per annum, but strangely you can actually step an entire trim level up and get the Performance Line PureTech 100 for rental at £163pm (£1,500 initial payment, £199 processing fee, 10,000 miles per annum, 24 months term) through ZenAuto.
You speak of the DCT transmissions as if they were the best of all transmissions. I beg to differ. I drove for 15 years a 4 speed torque converter and now I am driving a 7 speed DCT, the famous DSG, for the last seven years. Both have their share of defects and virtues. But with my experience, if I have to choose one now, I think I would choose a torque converter.
I had one in an ibiza I hired on holiday. It changes quick but could be smoother and trying to edge out of a parking bay was difficult because clutch was engaged or disengaged, nothing in between. Minimum 5mph! Good for economy and speed of gear changes, less for ease of town driving and smoothness
The 3 was DS' saviour and now they've made it weird! What a stupid decision, I think a redesigned 3 would still sell well. Hope they still make but doesn't seem like it.
great review as usual . Admire the french for having a go at being a bit different ( I had a BX and loved it ) but this is not wild enough or premium enough to capture either camp. Not sure about the ADHD reference which may get some feedback .
Not being prejudice or anything but does the stripes on the t-shirt and the tattoos suggest 'dodgy' activity when filming ends? Oh yea, usual excellent review, don't sulk about the door bins, your above that.
Great review, Mark. Is it just me, or does the DS3 Crossback look like a black Skoda Fabia either in a coloured fat suit, or sinking into some coloured gloopy slime? Either way, not for me.
Given that this new DS3 was the first car PSA had teased its electric platform (same as the 208e and Corsa e), I have honestly had some positive reservations for this car. It does get fussy with the fake vents. The haptic buttons would be far better with actual push ones. And that B pillar shark fin only serves as a homage to the old DS3. I have been in a DS4, it was daft (and the suspension was German poseur harsh). Rear room was tight and window light was even worse. Sad to see this DS3 cross sacrifice in the same way. If they dared to put their Avant Guard to the test, they would've dropped the rear windows like the BMW i3 has, providing needed light and also visually break up and slim the side slab of the body. DS should just focus on reinventing the DS5 and reviving the -Citroën- C6. That was a real car worthy of stealing the German and Swedish limelight.
Tres Bon review.....also like the french traditional dress...looking forward to you doing a German car in Lederhosen or perhaps surprise us all and wear Dirndl...never miss one of your reviews....even my darling wife watches...true.
Is luxury about interior space? :) :). Last time I checked, no. Saying that DS cannot be a luxury model coz they dont know how to carve out interior space is laughable. Please do not go the Carwow/TG/Autocar way in French bashing. Stay Honest.
Love the channel. Subscribed blah blah . But watching these cars only reminds me of how dull and boring the car industry is to the lower and middle motorist. Bloody SUVs man. At least the French are a little left field which makes things a tad more interesting. All in all cool channel and Mark ...you're gonna look flippin mint at 70 with that body art 😁
At 30k just get volvo xc40. At 22k more tempting. Really should be about 19k though. I think you've still got to slightly under cut the competition as a new and slightly flawed but interesting brand
For me, Italian, French and Japanese cars. No overrated, overpriced with basic equipment, copy-paste design, the most generic tasteless looking, unreliable German rubish.
Even frenchs like me don't want it its sad. Rather have the citroen crossthing for 10 000 less than the ds one. Nobody buy a posh car because its paris luxury inspired to look like a handbag. They want london look made by germans or bauhaus look made by the others germans Ds brand is just bigbrother peugeot being jaleous of little one citroen doing better posh things than themselves 10 years ago with the first ds3. Wich was a good car against a same year mini. Bon baisers de france Brits!
I want to defend this car (and brand) by saying it took Audi and Lexus over 30years to get anywhere and also that you can easily pay over 20k for most small cars nowadays but the thing I can't forgive is the lazy engineering + the fact that overall this car looks sh*t. Must do better next time DS!
Audi used to be pretty rubbish especially driving dynamics. Like the Audi 100 was really terrible, but the car media put a veil on everyone's eyes and the great driving and excellent French cars were decimated as collateral for Audi's manufactured success.
Cette revue représente 80% de vérité et 20% de préjugé contre la France, but it's funny though. Il n'est quasiment pas possible de faire un bon produit pour le marche britannique car les revues seraient systématiquement négatives, so it's not surprising that les français s'en fichent quant la boîte à gants est fourrée de câble!
How weird is it that this effeminate man reviews cars. I find it amusing and im just looking his neck and head gestures. All covered in tats and 100% tutti frutti. Hillarious. I subbed
For the love of all that is holy, NEVER buy a brand new French car. As Mark illuded to, depreciation can be your friend and a PCP-surrendered model could offer (maybe) several miles of trouble free motoring, without the worry of knowing how much you still owe the finance company and the actual car value.
I actually really like this car. It's not perfect, but unlike any VW group car at the minute it has character. This makes it more polarising for sure, but I'm on the positive side of that.
James Taleporos with character but a lot of shite
@@dj331 to each their own.
Mark. This channel will always be 100 times better than Carwow. If anyone wants an unbiased review, this is the channel to watch.
My favorite is Marek from Marek drives.
Yes,Marek is good as well, he has a great sense of humour.
Your style of delivery and editing is top notch 😂
I like how Mark actually says what other reviewers only think. Good stuff!
Le first.
Ah here now, as an Irishman to an English man, there's nothing bit wrong with the French.
a trick : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Emiliano Terrell definitely, I've been watching on flixzone for since november myself :D
Carwow, can learn quite a lot from this show, HJ. I think I will tell them. Brilliant as usual, thanks HJ and team.
I saw one in a showroom and it caught my eye straight away (in a good way) took it for a test drive and bought it.... picking it up in a few days but we did not pay anywhere near the price mentioned
How do you find it? I’m thinking of getting it
By far the most clever and entertaining cars' reviews...... Excellent my friend.
First advert when I started watching ..? Carwow! The specialists in telling you “does my bottle fit?” ...
or " click here to see how much you will save " simulator...
Another good and fair review! Out of curiosity Mark, do you own a car? If so, what is it?
DgHooper88 - last I heard, a VW Up! Great cars btw, even the lowest power version is fun in my own experience. Benefits greatly from decent tyres. 😊
Yet again honesty first, passion second ! And I almost lost all hopes that Mark would dislike a cross over, one day !

Great Video Review. I particularly like the styling eventhough It might not be as good as Its German Rivals
That is what Germans want you to think. They do pay the most money for marketing and bribes.

Is the facelift Skoda Superb on your list ? How good is the NVH compared to so called premium A6/5/E ?
Not being prejudice or anything but does the stripes on the t-shirt and the tattoos suggest 'dodgy' activity when filming ends? Oh yea, usual excellent review, don't sulk about the door bins, your above that.
Did you really say "most majorest"? Again: this little phrase alone made it worth watching the video!
Great review, Mark. Is it just me, or does the DS3 Crossback look like a black Skoda Fabia either in a coloured fat suit, or sinking into some coloured gloopy slime? Either way, not for me.

So I’m not honest because I don’t agree with your view? Weird but ok.
This car should have been so much better. Is there still a 3-dr version? It would be much better looking.
first bad review I've seen on this car
Love the channel. Subscribed blah blah . But watching these cars only reminds me of how dull and boring the car industry is to the lower and middle motorist. Bloody SUVs man. I really like the back of it but hate the door handles. I saw it in the flesh it was interesting.
Like the idea but the Xc40 does most of this stuff better whilst not being entirely forgettable.
Like there onion seller top. Another canny review mind, thanks Mark
At 30k just get volvo xc40. At 22k more tempting. Really should be about 19k though. I think you've still got to slightly under cut the competition as a new and slightly flawed but interesting brand
Le options de standard list did make me laugh.
For me, Italian, French and Japanese cars. No overrated, overpriced with basic equipment, copy-paste design, the most generic tasteless looking, unreliable German rubish.
"ADHD kid's rubber duck at bath time" - not sure if that's epic or terrible LOL
Same actually. :-D
Typical English negative response to French cars.....
Even frenchs like me don't want it its sad. Rather have the citroen crossthing for 10 000 less than the ds one.

Quite nice from the outside..,.. but the interior is bobbins
I can’t stop laughing ...stilling sales from the Germans ... big laugh 😂
”merde in France”
Alright, alright, alright, I get it. You hate this car! BTW, so do I :)

Like an ADHD child's rubber duck at bath time. . . .priceless!
Aye man, very canny an all that but where is your stick of truth? Thankfully completely absent.
Brilliant! Won’t be buying that!
Your reviews are the best.
Its not OK.
continuity beard fail

Thanks babes. X
I might just say this every week, just buy a fiesta😁
Looks like you him
Je suis troisième
You never see any ds cars apart from the ds3 on the road especially this one, Save your money and buy a c-cross.
For the love of all that is holy, NEVER buy a brand new French car.
