MSFS2024 is shaping up to be an absolutely spectacular sim! So excited for this! Congratulations to Microsoft and Asobo and a big thank you for all the efforts their putting in
Great interview, and great job by the developers! I'm definitely very excited to upgrade to the 2024 experience. VR all the way! I'm very excited for all the visual and physics improvements. I was SO excited to finally see animated passengers, real activities with purpose, and even the ability to walk around! I know a lot of simmers may be all about the cockpit, but I'm all about every aspect of flight - including the airports themselves, INSIDE and out, as well as the full cabin with passengers in them - so, I'm hoping to see a lot more of that as well. I want to be able to walk through the cabins, open and close the windows and doors, etc. etc. Ability to use VR controllers to interact would take things to another level, but nothing specific about VR has been said so far.
Oh my gosh 😍! My dreams as an avid helicopter-simmer finally come through. Can't believe this stuff. Since FS2004 I'm waiting for this level of detail, almost 20 years. Not only regarding scenery design but missions too. I've always missed the missions of FS2004/FSX in MSFS2020, but now things come together. I'm soooo glad that Asobo/Microsoft didn't forget us rotorheads and GA-pilots beside the "bus-drivers". THANK YOU SO MUCH! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! ❤❤❤ And, honestly, I've also missed the avatar function like in P3D, not only in MSFS2020 but in many other flightsims too.
Thanks for the interview. The 2020->2024 transition will be a big deal to understand towards the end of the year. Content in principle being transferrable with the caveat that the developer/owner has a verification to complete. Hopefully this will be smooth ...we'll wait and see.
Idk how people (especially on livestream) were complaining about stuff. They are doing above and beyond what I ever would have imagined! MSFS2020 was perfect in my mind (other than a few bugs here and there) but with all the things being added it is clear that this will be the best flight sim ever made
Missing: what is the mission system all about. More career stuff? Or just flying randomly tasks? Or you have to afford or rent the plane like in FSE.. 2nd thing: working wipers? Physically calculated correctly rain drops? Wake turbulences in multiplayer? Model matching? Bigger online groups? Better ATC?
The fact they stated tornadoes only exist in the “mission system” indicates they will be discrete scenarios with baked in parameters like 2020 activities or how train sim world does time tables.
The ability to walk around is awesome, just admiring the aircraft or doing actual walk arounds is going to be a cool addition the the sim that i was sorely missing. Also the “rp” factor of it, landing somewhere and getting to walk around, greet customers or whatever and then hop back into your aircraft is going to be very cool. Just sitting in the cockpit becomes a little boring after a while
I never thought of it that way, but it's true. Walking around your plane really will emphasize the immersion much more when you actually go and sit in the cockpit.
Great interviewer, splendid job done mate. And big thanks to jorg and the asobo team for elevating our hobby to the next level. Can’t wait to try the new sim out! ❤ And drop me an alpha inv when the time comes jorg 😂
Well done to everyone who has made msfs what it is and what it’s going to become. I know they see a lot of bad word on social but there is 1000% more good than bad. MSFS is where I go to get my peace of mind. All I can say is thank you!
Weather, ATC, fix timezone issues, working wipers, cumulonimbus up to 60k, we need more cloud types. Once you have actual storms we need wx radar. Some type of airport AFCAD gui program to edit airports. Nobody is asking about performance? Are there going to be multiple versions like premium, deluxe, etc? Even with all this 2024 is looking promising.
Definately need more info on the career mode aspect, is it similar to neofly and onair, they mentioned the certs/licence to fly other aircraft, but the whole career part of the sim seems to be avoided, come on Jorg give us the info. :)
Seb really deserved all the applause in the room for that amazing work put into MSFS 2024. JORG: About "all the planes shown in the demo will be in 2024 for free" - is that counting for helicopters as well?? (I hope so!) :) :) Great interview, thank you!
I wish someone would ask a question about performance. It still takes minutes on a pretty beefy PC for my sim (+ local addons) to actually load up. Minutes to get to the home screen, and more minutes to get to the actual flying. so, how will perf improve in 2024. What a simple question to ask and this interviewer missed it
FLIGHT MODEL QUESTION: Most YT channels that compare the MSFS and X-Plane platforms don't do a proper job of demonstrating various critical maneuvers. Try the cross control / base to final / too low - too slow maneuver. This is a critical maneuver that has been removed from PPL Skill Set. CFI's only demo this pilot killer at altitude. Student pilots don't have to demonstrate this to their CFI or to the Checkride DPE. No one remembers Asobo's DIRECT ASSURANCE during the by private invitation only, Global Preview Event that MSFS's thousand points on the wing flight model will properly have the C172 spin in. A broken promise.
MSFS2024 will be a properly ready made sim. I feel that MSFS2020 was rushed in its development. Bless Asobo studios for giving us such a nice sim, otherwise we would still be stuck with FSX, Xplane and P3D.
I think when that one Asobo dev said in a dev stream about the VR shutdown bug “couldn’t be duplicated” is all you need to know about how much they care about VR lol
@@ukmaxi No, what he meant is that this visual glitch happens 100% of time at the end of every single flight for absolutely everybody using VR. You can't miss the jump when switching off the battery. If they can't reproduce it, it means they didn't even try or whoever was responsible for that has no idea how VR works even as user...
seriously. how in 2024 can you still think tjeybare shutting down VR he was clear when he said they cannot talk about all aspects of the sim and in the coming months much more will be shared VR will still be in 2024. should we not stop this freakout about some offence when we still dont know a lot
@@pieterduplessis6906 They talk about listening to community all the time. So now, when they still can shift focus and prioritize features, it's most important to let them know how important VR is for the community. So they notice and fix broken implementation, at least. Or even improve it with new features. If they don't feel the demand, they won't do anything...
I wish there would be some questioning about multi-monitor support in 2024. Hoping it's not a beta feature anymore and become a standard bug free experience.
what MUST work on the new sim is RealWeather that MS and Meteo Blue have been having trouble with in 2020 as far as hight mountain areas go - me flying in the Alps cannot fly in Real Weather because all areas with hight mountains are in eternal winter visually.
great interview thanks...one more question..with all these new features coming on how is performance with our current hardware will be like? will my 3080Ti video card be able to handle or will it be a slide show?
msfs2024 performs better, optimized multithreading and so on. with those plus the new features and simulations you'll get about the same or better performance. they won't change the system requirements
From a PR perspective, it's best not to show ALL the details before launch, gotta have a surprise somewhere, right? Plus, they already said LOTS to get the simmers hyped up for the game.
In the last dev stream they mentioned already, that it's not only on them, but their weather provider has to agree to this. They don't ignore the requests, yet they need approval from meteoblue to use the data for a correct radar.
Very good questions, i actually wanted to ask more questions in regards to the UI because their current UI is very GAME...Y.... Very clunky. Will it be updated for a more faster, reponsive menu's. Also what is the situation with the current CAMERA system? Because that was something that heavily needed updating or at least have an API so third party could do it properly.
I think they still don't understand the request for historical weather. It isn't about "weather events" like hurricane "xy", it's about normal wx from 6 hours ago or two days ago. Because today's wx is too bad for VFR or because I want to fly in a different time zone!
He explained that the historical data aren’t available worldwide. I don’t know how far back or how granular he’s talking, but from that perspective, it is problematic because it won’t match areas in which the data don’t exist. I have a feeling this problem is worse the farther back you go.
I still can't play smoothly msfs2020 on vr with my rtx4090 and Ryzen 78003xd , how it's possible coming fs2024 with better graphics? I believe I need rtx 6090 for msfs2020 and for msfs2024 I think I would need rtx9090😅 so I believe to play msfs2024 will be possible around 2030
don't over optimise like you did with fs2020 I know it lowered the graphics quality!! Joe Blogs may not notice but we who work with graphics everyday notice!!!! and leave the addons to the developers they do a far better job at producing them!
First thing first, I would like to say I appreciate all the work they have been doing and for bringing the sim back to life. They have done so much! The one thing that really stumps me and kind of irritates me is how they still don’t really address the big items for the hardcore simmers like myself. Weather radar, we keep getting a we are working on it and that’s all for the past 4-6 years. What about the aerodynamics, how much has it changed and what has improved, ATC if either it has been massively improved or still on the works, weather system like is clouds are seeing upgrades and such. So many important aspects of the sim that still need a bit more work and they keep getting dodging the questions.
6 months from release (3-4 from Xbox certification/gold publishing for physical) and they don’t have a stable build? Yikes! Half of the features were talked about in vague terms or future tense - like they haven’t started working on them yet.
@@coochieman7887 Haha, I miscounted, even worse. I thought this interview was pretty disastrous from a MSFS perspective. Cirrus clouds don’t form at 5k feet MSL (they can form down to 15k, typically at higher latitudes). The fact that tornadoes are only in the mission system tells me they will be like 2020 activities and not an emergent career mode utilizing live weather. It also reveals there may still not be appropriate considerations for convective systems and the hazards they pose to aviation.
I just don't understand why nobody wants to touch VR with a 10 foot pole. That is a major issue for a lot of people. I even wonder if it is off limits to discuss.
@@pieterduplessis6906as a RL glider pilot I can assure you weather in MSFS is NOT realistic - esp danerous weather and thermals (csuse of turbulence) this makes sim very artificial.
