Always a Beretta fan. The malfunction you experienced reminded me of an older 84 Beretta i owned. Got a couple malfunctons after cleanings. Once i got a couple mags through it, it was flawless.
Never did for sure. One theory was some pistols need about a 1000 rounds ran through them to really break in. Also, I have one pistol, a Kimber, that only functions right when a little dirty.
That's kind of concerning if that were the explanation lol. Imagine getting into a gunfight and going "Sorry man, I gotta fire a couple of mags into the air to make sure my gun functions first."
I've had my 80x for 3 weeks now, yesterday was the 4th trip to the range. That happened to me twice yesterday. I'm at about 500 rounds in, it has shot 6 different types of FMJ, and 5 different types of JHP, all flawlessly. This isn't an ammo problem from what i can tell, something is keeping the trigger from resetting. I saw this issue on a forum today. My plan is to keep shooting it to see if it just needs to break in. I didn't get it for a carry gun, but it should work right for the money.
Had the same thing happen to me. Sent to beretta. They fired 50 rounds and said it works within factory parameters. Got it back took it the range and it happened again. Beretta now has it for the second time. Also when the trigger is dead/ fails to reset the decocker/safety won’t engage.
@@Rebelriverraider kind of. I called last Wednesday and cs wasn’t helpful bc all customer service calls go to md. But the gun is in tenn. they said they would email me later that day but didn’t hear from them. All I know is the gunsmith has had it on their work bench for 2-3 weeks now.
Check your overtravel adjustment screw. If the screw is too far out, the hammer will not fall just like what happened in the video. Apply some blue loctite and back the screw out a few turns.
I'm sure someone has commented, but Beretta knows about the dead trigger issue, and has fixed it with newer guns in a "rolling update"...from what I hear, they're now just replacing these guns that had the issue (though someone pointed out how he fixed it just by rounding off edges of the trigger bar).
I own a 92x performance. Failed after the first 40 rounds. Sent it in to beretta. They lost it. Took 6 months to get one back to me. Never even told me it was coming. Just showed up at my door.
The “Polaris” of the firearm industry. It sounds like sending to Beretta is a total waste of time and money. Bums me out because I really wanted to buy one.
@criticalthinking3709 not sure i know anything about Polaris. However, berettas shoot great. They're easy to work on. Mags are abundant. There's lots to like.
I watched it over and I would guess maybe a cleaning and lube would be the place to start. Maybe switch ammo? It's got to be a fluke from being new.I think oil it a run the hell out of it might work it out. Would hate to give up on it early.
I think you are probably correct. I would clean the gun first and check the ammo also. (I also agree that it might be an ammo issue.) The only weapon where this ever happened to me was a 45 caliber carbine and in that case the bullet was hard stuck in the chamber and I could not get it out. I took it to a gunsmith since, at that point in time the gunsmith was very clost to my location. Point is that cleaning can be important along with the ammo. My gun was very dry when this happened and had not been shot in ten years. If it did it again I would push Beretta for a replacement and I would not give up until I received a new pistol. Other people have what might be better thoughts but this one is a simple first action.
I have no idea whats Behind your target backstop, but it sure looked like you had the gun pointed In The Air pulling the trigger, hammer back, no control over whether it would fall and fire (about 2:36 into video). Several times. The only Safe direction is down at the soft ground or at a know target. Also... a gun too hot to hold means parts internal to the trigger have likely expanded... esp any light weight alloy parts. Cool the gun down to ambient... mostly likely action will release correctly. Ive had my 85S cheetah for decades... never unhappy w it... and the new 80X looks and feels even better... enjoy.
This is concerning! I live in Arizona where it’s a blasted 120 degrees in the summer and I keep my Glock in the console of my truck. I had no idea this was a thing. Thank you for mentioning this.
Wow! I’m really sorry, you have more problems with guns than anyone I know. I watched every video on TH-cam on the 80X and haven’t seen anyone having this problem, if you know of one please let me know. I bought one and it’s been running flawlessly.
That was a great review brother. I am new to your channel and hey you got yourself a new supporter here. As always I would appreciate support as well although my tiny little channel isn’t as relevant as yours. This little gun is definitely one that i will be adding to my gun collection. It looks great and i absolutely love ❤️ it. Thanks 🙏 again and god bless!!

Ever figure out what caused your malfunctions? I still do not know what caused this, neither does beretta from what I’ve heard

@@DanaRichey-hq6ls that’s interesting for sure

Send it back to beretta! Don’t let it go unknown

Have you heard back from Beretta?

@@GoldenWebbhey, any updates?
Beretta should make this right and send another one to you free of charge
I’d take one for free to review again
Wow, was going to buy one of these tomorrow. Sooo glad I saw this. Thank you!
Thank you for viewing my friend! I would hold off for awhile

That's good news. I just need to make sure I get one that's current production.
Beretta should bring back the classic 80s series.
They should
I’ve shot over 500 rounds and not 1 misfire or malfunction with the safety. This is my 4th Beretta. Awesome gun
Thank you for being our test dummy as always
Hahaha i appreciate it!
Excellent review. I'd like to see you review the new Girsan MC14T, basically a copy of the old .380 Cheetah with tip-up barrel.
I sure do appreciate the kind words my friend! I will look into them!
From what I've seen and read, the Girsan 380 is a nice firearm. But a review from this fella would be worth a watch.
It is good looking, my 92x RDO Compact with 1/4" longer barrel and 15rds of 9mm will keep me happy. I would love this in 9mm and no bugs.
I would as well brother!
Mine did the same thing. I already sent it to beretta and waiting for their response. I even filmed it for them
Well, so much for me buying the new cheeta
Yea I couldn’t recommend it at the time being
If you could only have 1 and would you choose this or Glock 25? Assuming Beretta had already solved the problems you showed
Was going to get one but now I will wait to see how Beretta handles this one.
Still haven’t heard back from them
Please keep us posted. I just subscribed. Thanks!
It’s accurate, that’s for sure
It sure was!

I’d be pissed!
@GoldenWebb Their customer service is not great. Then I went and bought another one. I like a thick Italian mama

Been considering one of these until watching that malfunction
Seems like a lot of people are having this exact same problem. Especially a lot of people in the beretta Facebook groups.
That’s how you go to the forever box
Yea, can’t be having something that refuses to work
I have a Beretta 85bb and have never had a problem. This problem has to be addressed.
How about reaching out to some of the aftermarket companies that specialize in Berettas for insight (like Langdon tactical)
Great quality video, showing exactly what I wanted to see! Did you get back from Beretta about this issue? What's their policy on this case?

Nope. Beretta said it was fine and never heard anything back. Even offered to re review it if they sent one out.
And that’s why I stick with Glock
It’s an interesting malfunction to say the least!
Great Review , By the way 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

Interesting malfunction
