  • Senegal is a country in West Africa having Mauritania, Mali, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau as neighbours at its various borders. Senegal also has a maritime border it shares with Cape Verde and Dakar is the country’s economic and political capital. With the population of about 16 million, it is named after the Senegal River which runs through the east and northern part of the country. Having been colonized by the French, the official language of Senegal is French, while the Wolof language is a major lingua franca.
The Wolof are the largest ethnic group among many others in the country.
Senegal has a rich history of thriving kingdoms before the Europeans set foot on the territory. Two notable empires of its past include the Takrur and the Jolof Empires. The Takrur kingdom was an ancient state of West Africa which thrived alongside the Ghana Empire between 800 and 1285.
It was a major trade center for gold and salt. It was a rival of the Ghana Empire and occasionally, the two kingdoms clashed. The kingdom prospered and grew until it was subdued by the Mali Empire in the late 13th century.
The Jolof Empire or Wolof Empire, ruled parts of Senegal from 1350 to 1549.

They all possess the freedom to express them selves in their native tongues, they only difference being is they use the french language as the lingua franca in all parts of The Senegal instead of Wolof, like it was before the european powers came.

Dear as a Senegalese, please understand that our official language is jollof because the majority speak jollof. French is business language to communicate with foreigners. This African man trying to speak like a European is also trying to portray my country and people from the lenses of a European. There are things he said which are not true as well.
I have lots of somali work colleagues in the UK who tells me that they are not blacks or African and your language is mostly Arabic. Truth is that Somalians are more mentally colonised and enslaved Africans after angolans.

The speaker is so annoying with his false accent and false Information .
The tuklor are fulanies parents of the Nigerian housa, fulanies also known as berbans, normads and many other names, cousins to Ethiopians and came down from Egypt, they were scribes of Egypt, hence their knowledge of African history and map.
Senegal was bigger than it is today, Mali, Mauritian and Gambia was all part of Senegal.
Senegal means our ship so it was important for Mauritian to be separated from it so Europeans can claim atlantis and also Mali, dogons ship landed in that area hence the name our ship.
This annoying man is only doing exactly what his colonial masters taught him.
