    Pretend rent is such a great idea! I wish I thought of it! It would’ve helped haha

    This is nice information! I always just act like I’m broke/don’t have money which helped saved me money haha. Now I got extreme couponing going for me as a side hustle (items I pay zero out of pocket for) that brings me enough extra cash from selling the items to cover a bill or two a month.

      Omg that’s a great tip! I always tell myself “YOU DONT HAVE MONEY FOR THIS” when I’m about to buy something out there !!! And love the extreme couponing hustle 💰

    This all still applies to today but what wasn’t mentioned is Apartments add on $100-200 in extra fees for valet trash, pest control, parking, parcel lockers, etc and you can’t opt out of the fees except for parking everything else is mandatory so that 1000 a month apartment just became 1100-1200 monthly. So if your absolute max for rent is 1000 look for apartments that are 800-900. I’m moving into my 3rd apartment and I always forget about the extra fees 😅

    about how much do you pay in utilities?

    • @ItsShanonMaglente
      @ItsShanonMaglente  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I pay about $60 for electric, and $25 a month for gas, but my gas is on a payment plan where I pay the difference at the end of each year depending on how much I use!

    I make variable weekly pay, and if I work my 40 hrs (each week for a whole month) its $2400 a month. No way I can afford to live on my own at all 😩

    Okay I’m gonna ask a possibly invasive but REAL question… WHAT JOB??
    Planning to move and save is necessary and I know the budgeting is, but what literal occupation? I be so lost as to how people even are working on a salaried job

      My friend actually gave me her old pots and pans to start, and I haven’t changed them since lol. I got my plates and cups from ikea at a great price, and even brought some stuff from my parents’ home

      Truck driving pays on average 5000-6500 a month and that’s in the beginning at one point in my career I was making 8500-9000 monthly as a company driver then I got my own truck and was making 25k on average monthly again all of this without a degree 😁 most trades and blue collar jobs pay very well and you don’t need a degree 😊
