    Emeric, this is a beautiful video! I've been repeatedly watching it over the last few days. It's especially beautiful, however, during this time of healing in France. I pray for serenity, peace, love, and hope to your entire country as well as the city of Paris. God bless.

    Thanks for the awesome upload. You clearly know good motion. Would shooting in RAW get rid of the heavy artifacting?

    • @emericliv
      @emericliv  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Parker! I can't shoot RAW with the Panasonic GH4, so I guess it all depends on what camera you would be using and what artifacting you are talking about.

    Nice! I'm thinking about buying that lens. It looks incredibly straight to be so wide. No straightening applied in post?

    • @emericliv
      @emericliv  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thansk! Absolutely no straightening in post, distortion is not an issue with this wide angle lens.

      No special tips, I try to be unobstrusive, nice and polite, and always explain what I'm doing if asked. And of course I don't shoot anyone who ask clearly not to be filmed.

      Well the only thing I can tell you is I try not to change too much the default picture styles, leave Master Pedestal at 0, turn iResolution and iDynamic off, and I use fast aperture lenses when filming in low light situations.

    Another amazing video here Emeric. Definitely striving to get my shots from my gh4 to get a similar feel to yours. Do you really recommend this lens? Been trying to find a wide lens that allows me to keep every thing in my frame in focus. Also, are you using a slider on some of your shots? If so which one. Thanks!

    • @emericliv
      @emericliv  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Parow This lens is very good yes and I would recommend it if you're looking for a wide angle manual focus lens.
      Construction of the lens is very good. The lens is compact, made of metal and feels very solid, but is quite heavy (420g) as a consequence (in fact it’s the heavier lens I’ve used with my GH4).
      The aperture ring is clickless and smooth, so it's easy to quickly and silently change the aperture even when filming.
      The focus ring is also very smooth with distance markers which can be quite useful. Paired with the GH4 and its focus peaking feature, I found focusing was very easy.
      One of the nice feature of the lens is its very close minimal focus distance (0,2m) which combined with its T2.1 aperture can produce some nice bokeh shots even at 10mm.
      If you’re looking for the sharpest lens for your micro 4/3 camera, this may not be the right one. What I mean is that it is sharp (it’s at its sharpest settings around T4.0-T5.6 and mainly in the center of the frame, as the edges are a bit soft) but not as sharp as a Panasonic lens for example. But it is designed as a cine lens and its softer image feels more like advantage to me to get a less pronounced video look.
      As for color rendition, I did not notice anything special while shooting with this lens.
      Distortion, which could be a problem with a wide angle lens, did not come up as one at all with the SLR MAGIC 10mm T2.1.
      Yes I do use a slider, a Konova K1 48cm for this video.

    Bonjour ! Je suis désolé de te déranger, mais je cherche à me procurer un GH4 avec un 10mm aussi. Sachant que sur le GH4, apparemment ça zoom tout seul de 2.6 car c'est du M43. J'ai remarqué qu'il y a des légères déformations sur les contours dû au fish eye si je me trompe pas... Aurais-tu des conseils à me donner ? Car déjà si avec un 10mm ça devient 26mm, avec des déformations de contour, je trouve ça assez problématique pour un appareil photo qui a une si bonne réputation !

    • @emericliv
      @emericliv  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bonjour, ce 10mm SLR Magic, est pour moi un des objectifs grand angle qui possède le moins de déformation sur ce type de focale. Il est certes un peu plus mou sur les bords qu'en plein centre, mais les déformations inhérentes au grand angle sont très bien contenues je trouve. Pour le cross le facteur est de x2 en Full HD et de x2.3 en 4K. Une solution sinon c'est d'investir dans une bague Speedbooster et utiliser des objectifs Canon avec le GH4 ! Et du coup tu réduis le crop factor et en plus tu gagnes en ouverture max.

    how is it at really low light? want to get one

    • @emericliv
      @emericliv  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The GH4 is usable up to 800 ISO and sometimes 1600 ISO, but you may need to denoise in post. It may not be the best for very low light shooting!
