The word brahmacharya stems from two Sanskrit roots: "Brahma" and "charya". Brahma means infinity and charya means moving in. So brahmacharya is moving in infinity, knowing your vast nature, thinking that you are not just a finite body; you are infinite. Brahmacharya is not 'controlling' your sexual feelings. Brahmacharya means releasing yourself from everything that causes your downfall. Becoming absorbed in God is the real Brahmacharya. Ramanuja, Sant Namdev, Kabir, Guru Nanak, Vallabhacharya, Chaitanya Maha Prabhu, Mira Bai, Ramakrishna Paramhamsa, etc. None of these or other Bhakti saints had talked about this semen retention. Why? because they knew the Ultimate Truth is Brahma. They had sung the glory of Rama and Krishna.

Ex if we see a woman but or women around us ia dialy world but we see all as soul just like us and that god resides in everyone and view with a sense of this equality, which is part of bharmhacharcya. Then lusty part of our cannot overtake us we can control or mind and senses and thus pull away from these things. And naturally we'd be able to do semen retention. You are right tho i agree with what you said as well :). I did not take this video to be that we should waste it. It is a source of energy in our body which is made and then gets dissolved. We shall not waste it, exercise stay focused, develop character but don't think much about it either ;).

@@Emoechaiti This is the best thing I have come up with: Acknowledge it as a non possibility. If you were feeling sad or desirous and someone offered you cocaine, would you take it? No, because you have the knowledge how crude and demonic a source of pleasure it is. Despite my struggles, I personally would never take any form of drug for sadness, not even pharmaceuticals from the doctor. I simply cannot do that to myself. If you are the same way, put sexual content in that same category. It solves the problem in far too easy and effective a manner, making it outrageously seductive but greatly damaging and addictive, much like drugs. And for the spiritual path, it is a tragedy to engage in. So if you have any princplies like this of things you would never do, convince yourself porn is exactly the same, because it is. Life is too beautiful to settle for drugs, or porn.
Instead of focusing on semen retention..one should focus more on Parmatma...instead of suppress the sexual desire...one should rise those sexual desire towards Parmatma...pure ur heart and soul towards Parambrahm and u will be on the path of Brahmacharya✌️🙏🇮🇳

Brahmam is not a moorti, Brahmam neither have good qualities nor have bad qualities, so we cannot worship or love Brahmam, instead we need to achieve realization about Atmam and Brahmam.
Love is not sex. A person with sexual desire or any kind of desire is not a brahmachari, brahmachari can control desires by practicing brahmacharya. Its not easy, its all about forcing the body to control from irrelevant commands of mind.
Why Sexual Retention? Because there is no purpose for sex in brahmacharya.
Brahmachari tries to understand about Brahmam and Atmam and seek more knowledge about Dharma through vedas, sastras and sutras.
Humans are not lifeless rocks, but we need patience to complete Brahmacharya. Humans have four stage of life, Brahmacharya, Grihasta, Vaanaprasta, Sannyasa, And Humans have four life goals too Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha. Brahmachaya stage focus on Dharma. You can have Artha and Kama in your Grihasta stage.
Before entering Grihasta or before completing Brahmacharya a person should fully understood about his dharma. While brahmacharya, nobody said about do not love, we can express love as much as possible. But love is not sex
People do not know the purpose of sex, and they are behaving less moral than animals. Animals having sex for reproducing, what about current so called humans? Please understand Human sex is the divine process to reproduce the most intelligent living being in the planet. Human sex is not for making money through porn business/promoting products by seducing. All other purpose of sex other than garbadhaana are temporary & injurious to our willpower and mind which will be reflected in future.
If a person is understood about his dharma he will become successful to achieve artha, kama & moksha. And for exploring and understanding our dharma we follows brahmacharya. 🙏

When one decides to attain Lord Krishna (God) and by His Mercy one gets attached to and becomes Brahman, one loses all desires and including sexual desires. So how can be there any loss of semen?

I was gonna say this. The videos fantastic but also as a westerner there’s a different paradigm here and we don’t have the history of tradition and devotion. For me personally without doing retention I very much struggle to do the spiritual work and suffer with big fluctuations in my mental state, so I feel like it’s something that actually allows certain people to actually do the work. In the end all paths lead to the same destination

Semen retention, distance from opposite sex, etc are necessary for a beginner. Because it's not so easy for a person to meditate upon Brahma until he abstains from all sexual pleasures. Ramakrishna Paramhansa advised all his followers to stay away from opposite sex as much as possible. Brother, what u have said in this video is true but this practice of seeing the self in all beings is possible only after one masters celibacy. Celibacy is not brahmacharya, but celibacy is the foundation of brahmacharya

While I agree to what you have affirmed I would like to make a small change; semen retention doesn't actually mean not releasing the semen but to release it discretely, preserve it for the use of what it is actually produced by your body for, which is Procreation or for sharing your love/spiritual intimacy/attachment with your partner. Indirectly semen retention means developing enough self control to keep the fire of your love for your partner alive for the longest period by not releasing it for anyone but her. If one doesn't have a partner semen retention simply means not letting one's character lose on any woman available. This behavior is not in the best interest of one's self development, mental stability and can become a menace in the society. Rapes, infidelity, prostitution, incest, STDs etc is a result of a mind that is non compliant to retention of semen for its right purpose.

@@ayushdebnath7888 Your understanding is absolutely precise. Don't go by this video., it's not accurate. Pls remember your body breaks down semen that is not released and reabsorbs it. Body uses its simple energy to breakdown semen with live sperms, converts it into absorbable form of protein and then consumes it. The vital energy/ojas produced by the semen and other materials within it after its reabsorption is tremendous/extraordinary. If one understands the kriya of using this Ojas the right way phenomenal amount of restructing of brain matter and processing capability in the brain can be developed.
Pray that your guru finds you, he/she will take you through an amazing journey, but sadhana/discipline is totally in your hands!

Jai Gurudev Prabhu. I agreed exactly with most of said in video. And it s beautiful always see truth represented with love and conviction. One thing i didn t agree, first i must introduce one thing, very indirectly related to this but important. In my tradition we differenciate Mukti from Moksha, Mukti is a non judgemental state where the "I, mine" of the ego is not present, there is a certain understanding, but Satchitananda is not there, God realization is not there: where as in Moksha you have awaken (only by Grace this state one reaches) Satchitananda, God realization having a relationship builded with him.
After this introduction, there is many levels of samadhi, but my point is, even for one who has still not realized the self and be far for realization of God, they may be can have eminent and perfect behaviour, attitude and good knowledge to teach others. I think the word "fake" for Guru, is not only heavy word but also abstract and dangerous. Who are we until realize the ultimate truth and Love for puting other Guru in such category? Is not about comparing Gurus, it s about focusing in what leads us to Bhagavan, as you beautifully said, i very like your video because is full of truth, Love and determination. 🙏

I always told people that semen retention is a stupid thing and agaisnt your own body, just like moat people think Yoga is gymnastics in the free air. However the benefits of semen retention is the same benefits that you already possess if you already knew you're already enlightened!
I did this when I had a company wich worked but what truly worked was to believe in nobody else but me. The power is always within. I suffered doing semen retention and I don't think or believe that was 100% the reason I became rich. I believe was many things. Just the fact of you doing something constantly and sticking to it everyday is powerful itself.
Hindu gurus does not focus on semen retention...it is also a practice by which a person will not loose his mental powers and physical powers..because many people become addicted and waste there semen..for meditation u need mental powers and for prolonged sitting u need physical powers..thats why semen retention is important..u can not deny this fact ever..yes it is not a wholesome thing..but it is a part of practice u just cant ignore

Celibacy in English does not mean non-indulgence in sexual activity, that is wrong, celibacy in English means the state of abstaining from sexual relations. And semen retention is a tool to the practice of Brahmacharya, besides, there is not such thing as semen retention, because it breaks down, it is reabsorbed to the body, it will give you the strength, the energy (ojas shakti) needed for your spiritual practices as a Brahmachary, so you cannot say that semen has nothing to do with Brahmacharya, but to say that is more than that.

Dear brother, I have already said in the Video that everything inside our body plays important roles including Semen. Semen has tremendous role to play in our body. Like Blood, our body needs semen. Semen has biological value but not spiritual.

@@sumitsaha3860 - Yes retaining semen may have positive effects and keeps the mind fresh with good memory skills, intelligence. But , the thing is it is not retention, it is the frequency of semen release that needs to be controlled, i think. As when semen is released lot of energy and mental strength gets drained as well, may be due to hormonal changes that happens and unfresh mind is not good for studying or doing a good activity. Also, it has nothing to do with God realization. I do agree with our speaker of this video that it is the will to know God or to love God is true Bhramcharya and not abstinance from these usual biological activities. This is my perspective. They way every one percieves the truth, the same way they depict it.

I never heard this kind of elaboration about Bramha charya before , likewise I was performing it from last 2 years
I'd like to add something here. I was reading 'the gospel of ramakrishna' ...in that bhagwan Ramakrishna Paramhansa explains to the devotees that they must not be in too much contact with women (addressing the unmarried ones)..once he also warned a bhakta not to go to a woman who was another bhakta...even if she is pure hearted. Even if women came to him for advice, he would talk to them for a while and then ask them to go see the temple. If they did not depart, he'd himself depart from there. He did all this not to hate others, but to become an EXAMPLE to others. Because in pravartakas, the mind is weak and gets easily distracted. To focus on god, he advised others to do this. 'Woman and gold alone is maya', he used to say. That holds until the pravartaka sees people as men and women, so his instructions were also in line with what is said in the video and must not be misunderstood. He used to say - 'A true brahmachari must not look even at the photo of a woman..even if he has controlled his desires completely -because he has to set an example to the world.'..otherwise people will not walk on the path to god. All these instructions that you might have heard (even from true gurus) is just the beginning instructions of brahmacharya but not brahmacharya itself. It's true jist is explained in the video. I got the vibes of swami Vivekananda after hearing this! Om Namah Shivaya.

Merely practicing semen retention doesn't lead one to the absolute truth but it is a basic requirement for that and ignoring the semen is onerous and for most people including me it takes plent of time and efforts.

It's simple as saying if you are busy enjoying your work all the pleasure just fades away. You can experience this in daily life.
In this case instead of working just focus inside of yourself. All the pleasure fades away. It's really so simple yet so difficult to do. Because since childhood we are taught to learn and do multiple things at a time which takes away the essence of just focusing on one thing to the extreme.

I accept your explainantion, but please remember that we have been identifying with the material reality for many lifetimes and it's not so easy to just give it up. Brahmacharya is a state of mind but it is also a practice for one who wants to achieve a level of consciousness, and in that practice restraint is necessary.
