You guys are refreshing. With so many contrived, strained and scripted "reality tv" shows on TV and even podcasts it's a pleasure to watch your genuine and fun-loving videos. Never change!!!
It's great to see young people get so enthusiastic about their dream cars. It brings back the feelings when I built my first hot rod, (68 Camaro) many years back. What's neat is that you're just getting started and will have many more years of that same enjoyment. Hell, I;m 60 now, still building hot rods, and still have that same feeling every time. Kudos on your video too.
Saw some of your later vids on this '70 vette waiting to see who gets their leg burned first. Didn't see any, which is good. Also noticed you removed (or never had) the rocker panels. I presume that's because they had to go (or be cut) to accommodate those side pipes with that small block. Those sides pipes are tricky. Speaking from experience, you (and more importantly, your guests) will eventually burn some leg skin as you exit the vehicle. All it takes is one girl to say "AHHH!" and those side pipes are history. Recommend side pipes with a heat shield (they tend to be smaller diameter to allow for the inclusion of the heat shield and tend to have baffles) or put the rockers back on and use factory exhaust manifolds with a 2.5" stainless steel (or aluminized) high output exhaust. Your ears, neighbors and guests will all thank you immensely while still sounding good. Just a recommendation.
The pipes have so far branded one passenger's legs. I always tell riders to beware and swing their legs wide of the pipes. It's a subconscious habit of mine now. I could get a heat shield but I don't like how they look.
Have Fun! and enjoy the crap out of that car. The memories you make now will stay with you your whole life. Money does not bring happiness, Corvettes bring happiness! Now go out in the garage and give that vet a big hug and be happy.
I too always wanted a Corvette. I bought my first one, a blue 1973 conv. in 1977 from the original owner (27,740 miles) an i still own it now, some 41yrs later.
Guys that's awesome. Love to wee young folks taking a interest in classic cars. Your lucky you found a friendly shop who does not judge and wiling to help. Good on you. Cheers.
...oh God...brings back so many "wonderful" memories on my first vette...an arrest me red '77...test drove it to the house.. brother checks the wheel bearings...right front hub bad...shim the race with a piece of Coke can to keep it from spinning! ...other little (?!)probs...brother tells me no way...so blinded by car lust, I buy it anyway while not noticing that the top part of the radiator shroud was GONE!...since my poor brother was the mechanic, he had to do all the work (brakes and tires, radiator shroud AND radiator, carb, etc...etc...etc)...then I had to leave it in Louisiana when I moved to Wisconsin...got another '77 (white this time), but one day I'm gonna get back my first one
CARY ON GENTS! You have a good thing going... DO NOT change... PLEASE do not change... Every time a channel starts to gt noticed, things change. I want grit, REAL unedited video.. Just a couple of buddies having fun turning wrenches with no made up drama.. PLEASE STAY HUMBLE.. Oh and I subbed too!
If you need any tips or help just ask. I have worked a lot of C3s and currently own a 73, aka the Middle child C3. 1 thing I tell all C3 owners to do is rebuild your brake calipers but use the updated O-ring rebuild kits. This will fix the most common brake issues. And thanks you saving another C3. Many junk them out when they get that bad. Good luck.
i have a 1982 C3. took that 350 out and replacing it with a 454 that's been boarded over 2.0 with a super high performance race cam kit and twin turbos. took all that heavy metal off from the font and rear suspension replacing it with all new lightweight materials. i love those side pipes and surely will run my Vette with those. there was nothing wrong with mine but needed paint. when i saw the Hellcats being driven by everybody, i wanted something to give all those cats hell, so i'm building a DOG. next step is dyno test to see hp rpm and work out the kinks before it's put in and connected to those beautiful side exhaust pipes. i can'wait till it's done.
I think this is the eighth or ninth video of you folks that I watched today. I really love your content, and as I am looking at getting an older car myself, it's really inspiring to watch you guys be so honest about the process. It has given me a ton of inspiration, so Keep doing what you do. I think underrated is a good label for this channel. Really amazing stuff!!!
Great video gentlemen, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We live in Toronto as well and I have a couple of project cars I have yet to get to. The first is an 87 300ZX 2+2 Turbo..has about 109000 Km (original) w/digital dash, leather, t-bars etc. We've owned it since 2000 and it had the fuel injection system replaced on a recall right after we bought it and I had a new/rebuilt transmission put in it. It hasn't moved in about 5 years so I imagine I will have to have it taken on a flat bed to get all the fluids drained and any seized parts moving. I have no idea what it will cost to get it running again but I like the car and think it would be worth doing. The second is a '68 2 door satellite with a 383 engine. It has not run for about 3 years and is in an underground garage. I am a car fanatic so I have to watch myself or I could get carried away. I love the Chrysler Newport you have as well; my parents had a 2 door 69 Newport and it was gorgeous BUT when my parents bought their house and tried putting it in the garage, even with the front bumper just touching the back wall of the garage, the tail stuck out about a foot beyond the threshold of the door so it could never be closed. Given the width of that car it was also "interesting" getting it very slowly up and down the driveway without touching the houses on either side. They ended up trading it even for a used '69 Mustang, but that is another story.
Cool video, great to see young fans of classics in my province! Past years spent at cruise nights made me think the hobby dying out! Perhaps you can make a video on how easy its to own & insure a classic for a younger person in Ontario! Cheers
Hey a tip next time you ever do fiberglass work. Cover your arms with baby powder. It gets in your pores and prevents the fiberglass from sticking, which in turn prevents the itching and need for thick clothing
Looks like it has a lot of potential for long term improvement. I'd suggest seat belts if driving around and videotaping ….invest in a better filter mask, make sure your jackstands aren't the cheapest imported type. The chrome bumper vetoes will always be worth some $$. Enjoy. I think you bought well if the bones are good.
Thanks! I actually changed the factory shoulder belts back to lap belts. But we're not unbelted because we got mommas who wanna see us again for Christmas.
a little trick I've used before is to leave the trailer attached to the hitch but use the trailer tongue jack to lift the front of the trailer some. Have to do this all the time with my Cobra Replica.
Here is what I would do with that Corvette. The exterior is what it is, end of story. However, the core of that Corvette, engine, transmission, rear axle , electrical system, suspension and brakes would all receive either major upgrades and or complete rebuild/overhauls. Kind of like a paradox Corvette. Rough exterior with a core that every Corvette would desire to be. My 1973 Corvette, a family heirloom, still has it's original forty-five year old lacquer paint. When I acquired [it] in 1980, the family Corvette had 3,100 original miles on the odometer. Now it has 'just' turned over 11,000 original miles. However, I have piled almost $93K into this fully optioned 1973 Corvette. The engine I built for it is a 7.5 Litre offshore marine boat engine, the exhaust tubing is an exotic alloy that I got from a NASA contractor that was working on a segment of the shuttle program in the early nineties. The custom ratio-ed 4-speed transmission is from New York State known as a Muncie M23. The suspension is NOS over the counter GM Parts 'Daytona' front coils and five leaf spring. And on and on it goes, as in way too much to list and detail. Make that Corvette a dream Corvette from the inside out, and don't cut ANY corners. Also, there isn't any such thing as an 'ugly' Corvette. That simply does not exist. Good luck and Cheers!
Well that's kinda the plan. The frame is actually a freshly powdercoated masterpiece, the engine and trans are working well, and I bought an interior for it, just haven't installed it yet. Your car sounds pretty trick!
Loved it; I love the corvette and definitly plan on getting a sidepipe c3... Hopefully a big block which im sure my neighbours will love... But for now I guess im gonna have to stick to my monster `70 442. Subbed
Just found your channel from recommend suggestions....love it! You guys remind me of Aaron Cake another cool Canadian car builder. Unfortunately he hasn't uploaded in forever.
Great video guys! Looking forward to seeing many more videos like this, really loved the cinematography, I definitely need to get some pointers from you.

The fact that Crappy Tire didn't have a SB350 thermostat gasket shouldn't surprise me, but you must admit that is unacceptable. Not to mention that for the most part thermostat gaskets are reasonably universal even across manufacturers.
Hello. My name is Eric. I just stumbled into your vidio and enjoyed it of coarse. I subscribed and well, I really hope to see more on the corvette in future vidios. This vidio makes me want to go find one and get to working on it. So good stuff you guys! I wish yall the best, & hopefully no tickets! Fingers crossed!
Just came across your videos on TH-cam got to say I absolutely love that that I'm so jealous the sound is like nothing else I just subscribed to your page keep up the wicked videos love the car!
Has potential but needs a lot of work to make it look decent. With those popup headlights they use engine vacuum to popup, so if the engine has a lumpy cam then they probably won,t work. Engine sounds GREAT but the body needs a lot of attn and new paint job.
Thanks! Alex went to school for TV video and I went to school for photography. We've both worked for big news places for 2 years now. But this was our first crack at a feature-length video. Stay tuned for episode 2!

Brilliant brings me back to my early days wrenching away at that dream.

1970 Corvette is a nice year, it is a low production year for Corvette, and less then 5000 L46 was made.
Enjoy your ride :- )
Thanks for watching! Yes, 1970 was actually cut short because they extended 1969 production longer than normal or so I've read.
Great video, I always enjoy seeing these Corvettes get the love that they deserve.
never seen anyone so happy to get back into Canada haha

Wow that is really smart. Gonna remember that. Thanks!
Look at Borgeson power steering. I put it in my '71 convertible and it was a huge improvement.
Congrats on the purchase. Glad to see a young generation enjoying these cars. I work on a ton of them. Nice video edit.

Didnt the 70 vette have the LT1 as an option along side the camaro? Cool car!
They did offer the 370 LT-1 as an option. Those cars are actually just as fast as the LS5 454 cars.
Awesome another one returns to the road, you should check out another TH-camr called (the Corvetteben) he specializes in vets especially c3s
Was anyone else more interested in the Porsche in that garage?
50k views and someone FINALLY notices that there's a 1974 Porsche 911 in that garage.
No.

28c in australia is like very normal
Well firstly we're wimps and secondly it was like 92% humidity that day.
sold my 69 L46 corvette convertible and bought a 69 Shelby GT 500 4 - speed , corvette was faster , stopped better too
just bought one a week ago...a 69 L46 4spd that is with 3.70 gears too... and sidepipes plus L88 flares...
this car is freaking nice!

lmfao that backfire, did you guys rebuild the carb?
I actually got an 72' Electra in storage.
If I bought one in good condition. Could it be used as a daily driver?
hi?I am in Toronto, I have a 1976 C3, do you have any good place to fix the car? thx, dont know too much about the classic car
Love it👍love the patina..
It is nice, how much you pay for it, I'm from Michigan too
Bought that thing for $6,500 USD
Did the Ital Motors guys wire the Vette as well as an Alfa Romeo?

It was a Swift GTi, good eye! I loved that car.
like closing a Frigidaire lol / i like that one
