Love you guys. You compliment each other well. Enjoyed the chat. I just found your channel a couple weeks ago and I am addicted now. This discovery brought me out of post menopausal depression, on the brink of retirement with $ but no plans. I have always had an interest in antiques and collecting, I took care and saved everything of value (monetary and sentimental) since I was a child and also my kids stuff (they didn't want of course). I am planning to sell, I have a lot to start and perhaps will get into reselling seriously. Right now I just love to buy and keep, after years of never spending on myself, raising three kids mostly on my own. Thanks for inspiring me and helping discover a purpose and enjoyment in living again.
Hi there! Thank you, really appreciate that. I'm glad you're watching, please check out my main channel 'The Antique Nomad' as well! I've always had the collecting bug too, and I'm glad you kept a lot and have a nice inventory to start selling. It is fun to be able to spend on yourself after scrimping and saving for years, and reselling lets me buy and improve my collections! I'm especially glad this is giving you a sense of purpose. My mom was kind of rudderless after my dad died, and picking for me really helped her find a new direction. I hope you have a lot of fun with it!
My husband doesn't mind jury duty. I despise it. Opposites attract. Lol. I liked your gifts. Would love to attend 'Tique stock this yr. Wishing you health wealth and wisdom in 2024.
Just getting to this video now. So nice to see Xeno in a chat. And, thanks for the information about what is good to sell. I've saved so much from the 50s and 60s but selling my daughter's stuff from the 80s right now. Just getting rid of stuff. Not buying and selling. BTW - you need to come to Vermont. We have fabulous maple "creemees (soft ice cream to non Vermonters) as well as antique stores!
Yes, a day late to watch your ANTIQUE AFTERSHOW #7 but I’ve been on the road heading home after being gone from home for six weeks for the holidays. I enjoy SO much you and Xeno in your videos, the banter is good loaded with dry humor to entertain us. You two actually provide your listeners/watchers both tidbits of info and interesting content. Thank you all for sharing your insights and knowledge in this informal venue. As a somewhat recent Level Three member, I’m pleased to be a small part of your podcast audience, a friend in Texas. ❤🎉❤🎉❤ - WhooHoo‼️ HAPPY NEW YEAR‼️
Hi George. Great video. Sorry Xeno had a bad food experience 😂😂😂😂 I'm 73 and have been cooking since I was 12 for family and I am also done with making meals. When all else fails order pizza. 😂Val.🐨 💟
"Niles Canyon Railroad" is located in Niles, California. Pretty sure that it's defunct now for the most part, but pre-covid, they did a cute Christmas Train. The Maintainer guy is BOB, and he always waves at us when we go by, and we all hang out of the window and yell, "HIIIII, BOB!". Niles is a small town sandwiched between Hayward and Fremont. I work for Amtrak and go through there twice a day, unfortunately. 😂
I love to take pieces from different eras and use their colors wisely. For example, I use the pink and mauve from the 80's and 90's and use them for Valentines decor. Especially the pottery. One needs to use their imagination. I am looking forward to retirement from my long nursing career and opening a new door to thrifting. The Washington vs Michigan is going to be a real barn burner.
My mother in law used to “hide” her chocolates under her bed so my husband didn’t find them. I’ve gotten a little more creative in how to discourage eating sweets but under the bed is still a decent option.
I am only finding this a couple months late ❤ glad to catch your friendly chat !
Happy new Year

The train which runs between New Orleans and Los Angeles is the Sunset Limited.
