How could they not go bankrupt after making the best games of a generation, they couldn't top these classics, what a great time to be a kid in the arcades, truly the last great era of arcade gaming

Very much except you forgot to mention capcom, I lived, breathed, and played street fighter 2 from the very get go. Best time and memories that a teenager can have, Now I own street fighter 2 arcade game and getting back up to speed to be competitive like I used to be
I know because I was referring to Midway arcade games at the time, of course Capcom is great but this in particular is about Midway in the 90s

At the arcade i used to just break the backboard on the 4th quarter and just walk away leaving my opponent hanging with my credit still in the machine. :) 2 player nba jam and mortal kombat was so fun back then came along killer instinct and virtua fighter. Damn i miss arcades they bring me so much nostalgia

Ah the memories. NBA Jam was one of a kind. Truly had fun playing the game/series. NBA Jam is the forefather of the NBA ballers series, NBA Street series, Barkley Shut up and Jam series, etc. Nice video btw.

the game is a fucking legend i loved it , best part of the game is when you score 3 times in a row you get the super mode " he's on fire " everything is better like kuroko no basket " zone " also special animations only in he's on fire mode like the front flip dunk
and i used to play it at my arcade place and i can't remember so well because it has been quite a while but if you get 10 wins without any losses you get to fight a special team or choose a special team that wasn't in the selection
I have tournament edition for the snes and my kids love it.

You sir are definitely a 80s baby for knowing that!! It's a fact. It was a whole different game in the Arcade. The Arcade had N64 level graphics back in SNES times.
Plus Undertaker Was Originally Planned To Be An Hidden Character In The Arcade Version Imagine How Awesome That Would've Been

Had this for the sega genesis and nobody could beat me. I knew every little glitch in the game. I played the game so much the CPU was so predictable. I would even put it on the hardest mode and input the juice code to give me a challenge but that didn't help because I was so good at predicting the CPU. Even when I played with friends I still was undefeated.
never knew that this was in the arcade, had it on snes, there were also phrases i never heard in my copy of the game, like cant buy a bucket, but i heard it at my friends, or he claimed it said it, interesting they made a video nice

I'd love for NBA Jam to come back but using Sprites/Pixel Art and not 3D models like the 2010 reboot had. Similar to how that upcoming TMNT game Shredder's Revenge looks. I think an NBA Jam game with great sprite work would appeal to a lot of people who grew up with the game. The 3D models for an arcade style basketball game don't really work for me unless it's a stylized look similar to the NBA Street series. I'd prefer a new NBA Jam to be using sprites though.
the 1st nba jam on sega was the best version didnt like TE all the much and the audio was different for sega and nintendo sega was better

I remember being 5 years old when I played this game... I only picked the suns or Miami cause I thought my basketball would always be on fire.. I pissed grown ass people off because of how good I was 😂

This and Double Dribble was the only basketball games I cared about. Well the only thing about basketball that I ever cared about actually. It's too bad EA let this series go to waste over the years, especially now since basketball arcade games are dead...well arcade style sports games are dead in general now that I think about it.
