Weird. I agree with the win losses but not with the total assessment of the team. I like the defense but I wouldn't call it elite. I like williams but I'm not expecting stroud numbers, not many rookies can do that. I imagine having a hero ball mentality won't just go away even if the defense is better cause sometimes bad habits die hard. I agree about the receivers, not many teams can cover that (jets probably only team with three elite corners to match) so bears receivers will feast but caleb has to read the defenses to get them the ball so will hinge on that. Something the texans did was have an extra lineman in most plays with stroud and sometimes shade TE help too. It would leave him with only 2 or 3 passing options but they rightly realized that a talented qb can throw better to two guys with time than three guys with no time. Hopefully the bears find ways to be creative with this. I like their oline enough, it strikes me as average to slightly above average which will play.
If we didn’t have fields and Mooney last year we would have made the playoffs and we replaced them with better players (imo) and I was a big fan of Mooney I hated fields since his first start. Fields was a terrible QB but extremely talented the bears failed him by keeping him in the qb position.
