I went again years later.The valley of the kings is lovely,Luxor,the Pyramids at night lit up,so romantic,and a must is a ride on a Feluka!!Dont go to Shama Sheik or whatever it's called,boxed in hotel complex!!SEE THE REAL EGYPYT!Someone said to me the other day they went to Egypt,stayed in the complex and saw F.A!!makes for a lovely honeymoon,the gold souls,the market the spices,the hustle and bustle and the beautiful people of Egypt.🌻

this film was apparently taken years ago when cameras were permitted. today, you are required to check your cameras before entry. i went to egypt with the smithsonian about a year ago. to see these treasures "in person" was spectacular!!! on the last day of my trip, i was in cairo alone and i returned to the cairo museum and spent hours there. although the museum is hot, dusty, dirty and dark, i loved every minute of it.
agyvonne I went there in May of this year and the only place I wasn't allowed to film was Tut's treasure room...for anyone who hasn't been there, it's where you can find the majority of his jewelry, his famous golden mask and 3 of his sarcophagi. The outermost one is still in his tomb, along with his mummy.
I'm actually in Cairo now and was there yesterday. There was an important person from Australia there with secret service and he was allowed to take pics. So while he and his group was taking pics so did I!
I went to it here in Seattle and they are VERY against pictures being taken - perhaps because of when it first opened and all the complaints of people blocking exhibits with cameras. You can sneak a few but if the many people watching see you they will be next to you in seconds telling you not to take pictures. Was great to see what they had an amazing that SO much more of it is in Cairo (like much of the gold and death mask etc -- and will never go on tour.)

No, these are not replicas. I have seen replicas and these were the real artifacts in Cairo. You can even see real mummies, as my own eyes saw Ramesses II.
