This is brain candy for young artists, something that really, legitimately helps. Keep doing what you're doing man, you're helping all of us so much.

@@pogz1 Honestly, I don't think I'm qualified to give you critique. I left this first comment because I myself am a young artist still trying to figure everything out, and this video actually helped me unlike a lot of others. Although, I can say that with anatomy, try using a photo for reference and draw it's basic anatomy, and then trace the pose's anatomy and see where you need to improve by comparing your two drawings. This is something that's helped me, at least. I wish you luck!

@@pogz1 I went through some of your art videos it sort of reminds me of myself when I started out. You have quite a bit of anatomy and proportion issues, mainly in the face. One issue is that you tend to have facial features be different sizes and out of proportion (big or disjointed eyes, small nose etc). Try and do some head anatomy studies and pay attention to some patterns or landmarks on how proportions line up. For example, the ears tend to be around the height of beneath the nose and the top of the eyes. I think the area you can focus on is trying to make all the facial features cohesive and together. It seems like most of your problems come from drawing the individual facial features by themselves. Rough out each feature (eyes, nose, mouth) at the same time first then detail them when you're happy with the proportions.
FLIP THE CANVAS! This one is super important! I watched your time lapses and noticed you never flipped the canvas horizontally! Create a shortcut to do this ASAP. Flipping the canvas is like a cheat almost and lets you see things you wouldn't have noticed. Your eyes like to lie to you and if you're staring at a drawing for far too long your eyes will get used to how the drawing looks and won't accurately tell you if the proportions or off or not. This is where flipping the canvas comes in! Trust me, it's extremely scary to do this after spending some time with a sketch because all the flaws will hit you in the face, but it's incredibly useful to do so.
Try drawing the head at a profile/side angle. I noticed you're like me and you're comfortable with the 3/4th's view. But if you start learning how to draw a head from the side it'll help bridge both angles and you'll get a better understanding on how to draw out the shape of a head in 3D.
Likewise, study the planes of the face and how they structure a head. Look up the "Asaro Head", it's a 3D Model with simplified planes of the face. Do studies of that and it'll help you get better at conforming all the facial traits together as one.
Either way, you're showing that you're consistent and trying to improve all the time which will get you the results you want, you just have to keep going. Art is hard but eventually you'll start improving and finding new things to improve on. I'm trying to work on being consistent with drawing myself.

Do you recommend drawing real faces before drawing anime? I’ve heard that from multiple sources
I’m decent at drawing anime but I can’t draw real people for my life
    Is it fundamental?
IF SO - how do you recommend learning?

    • @juderogers4826

funny aint it i tried so hard and never got so,, in the end i never improve. its like doing weights and never gaining. its like i work twice as hard as anyone. but its for not. i need a pros judgement/critique on my art vid..

@@pogz1 hmm maybe this style doesn't work for you that's why. Coz his tips is more on visualization on different parts of the bodies as if they're cylinders or boxes. This will be easy for you if you're the type who can imagine different perspectives of shapes. This may be not your style so just try looking for other tips that you can be comfortable with. I saw one where you take videos or pics of yourself then use it as reference for your drawing then try drawing it without reference and just from your memory till you feel it's perfect. Something like that. Sorry for giving you advice even if you didn't ask me 😅

The male body in manga form is fairly difficult to learn mainly because normally muscles are drawn out compared to the female form and I find most tutorials do not go into practicing the male form into more detail as you’ve done 👌🏽
