Well, we served during the night and used chafing dishes and we really didn't have a problem. Besides using those fly "stay-away" things from like Home Depot, you can assign a person to serve that way they can keep an eye out for flies and not let them land.
Depending on the meat and the time allowed, slightly under cook your meat, properly cool it, refrigerate it. When you reheat it, reheat it with a cover like aluminum foil and allow it to finish cooking until totally done. Otherwise, reheat food with a cover that way you can look in moisture and monitor the temperature to avoid drying it out.
GDS has 150mg per 1/4 teaspoon and is in the category of "lower sodium" but not "low sodium", if that makes any sense. Most things considered to be "low sodium" are 140mg or less. It's lower than most of the All Purpose seasonings out there and we used kosher salt to keep from having to use as much.
Now that's a PARTY!!!!!! I loved how everything was done right and in order... I don't like going to party and guest are arriving and you just now putting the meat on the pit/grill!!! WTH!!! LOL But everything looked nice and can't wait to see the recipes featured from this party!!!
Hi Carolyn, i having a party next weekend and for the chicken i am not a fan of root beer so is there another soda or thing i could use to marinate the chicken?????
You can also use large igloo ice chests, place ice in the bottom about 6 to 8 inches deep, put the meat bags in, and put more ice on top if you don't have 2 refrigerators. Once the ice melts just replace it if you're doing this a day or so in advance.
I love that you are professional and use proper sanitation techniques. I study science, but I am a foodie too. Finally somrone who knows how to handle food!
I just love you. Your so bubbly and are great in what you do! Keep up the good work. I'll stay tuned in for some more of your super ideas and preparing.
Thats how I clean my chicken too Caroline!!!! not many do. I can't wait to try that chicken with root beer marinade. I MUST get some Grand Diamond real soon.
Thankyou heaps. In Australia we usually have a cold christmas dinner but this year its a BBQ and I am the only one cooking this year. Only about 20people but still its going to be a big job for me! Thanks :)
That was a restaurant supply store where restaurants and people who have businesses shop. If you have a Business Costco near you it will also do the trick.
Yes, Costco is one of them. Costco has a "Costco Business" store also. Costco, Sam's Club, etc will do the trick. The point is to buy wholesale so you can save money buying in bulk.
I never thought of pre cooking the chicken. How long does it take to heat it in the oven? I'm going to have to try this next time! my brother always like chicken but I'm over here like ugh it takes so long lol
I'm just tryna figure out how to become a family member for next year's gathering! lol Everything looked awesome and I've never heard of the marinating chicken in root beer. I'm definitely gonna have to try that! thank you for sharing carolyn!
Thank you so much for this. I wasn’t sure what time to start, if I should start cooking the brisket at 7am, if cooking the day before is okay. This is super helpful, I’m definitely gonna do the cocktail hour while I rush to finish the meat 😁 thanks again!
I enjoyed watching this video because of the positive representation of black people. The professionalism, positive unity, and the decor was off the chain. Very classy!!!
Emil Scales Hey Cousin Emil! Uncle Ellis has been spending his birthday out of the country😂 having a grand ol’ time. (Cisco was the friend that did the table setup and I love the way you’re into it 😁) His parties are legendary.
This is awesome and right on time. Again Carolyn you've done an awesome job. I will be celebrating my 10 year wedding anniversary in November and your video as helped me a lot. One question...how did you store the marinated chicken once you bagged it?
300 people!!!! I'm stressing over 20 people being in my backyard lol

Awe inspiring seriously. I am hosting just 17 people tomorrow and am a nervous wreck lol.

Question:
Is it cheaper at the Restaurant Supply Store than at Costco?
Restaurant supply stores usually have better prices per pound on the meats.
