Previous poster stated: "...looks like a rebranded Gabil 7350T" and I tend to agree... I was intrigued by this antenna design and can see some real possibilities, so I ordered one. Thanks for the tip!
The connection itself was taking the QRP Guys style portable EFHW balun and attach what I would usually connect to the end of a piece of wire to the antenna instead. I did that by clipping it to a pin going into the center hole of the SO-239 connector in the CB style mount that was holding the antenna, but it's just the same as e.g. clamping the antenna to a post and attaching directly to the threads at the bottom. In terms of length, an EFHW is double the length of a 1/4 wave ground plane, so about where that antenna would usually be used for 40m with radials is about where it would resonate on 20m as an EFHW.
So what did you use to mount your MFJ-1898? It looks like you used an MFJ-1919. Any other parts I need to complete this antenna system, besides the optional 49:1 balun that you used? 73 VE7NDE
3/8ths.. I believe so but it's not here right now. It's oldschool CB style. The EFHW is from ebay and was junk but the circuit board itself was nice, so I replaced the torroid and cap and it's decent.

It probably is. Most MFJ junk is made, in china by someone else.
That antenna looks great, thanks for sharing buddy.
Just received my MFJ-1898 today hopefully it'll work well.
Great vid I'm playing around with a slidewinder on my car on the 6100 too.
Nice review!
This looks like a rebranded Gabil 7350T. If so its a good compact antenna.
What radial cabling is that? Only 3 with the x6100?
Hi, I'd be interested in knowing more about how you made that an EFHW and the connections.

@@kefrh Thanks for the explanation.
What mount do you use, or is it custom made?
How long are your ground plane wires?

Was the X6100's antenna tuner bypassed for this?
Yes it was. I never use it.
1st is the base of the MFJ 1898 3/8"?
2nd who manufactures the EFHW you present?

How long was your feed line when using as EFHW?
25ft
