  • "FP 1" was filmed in Germany in English, German & French versions, with three separate casts, and was a futuristic drama about the construction of a "floating platform" in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Despite being a prestigious production at the time, this film was not especially popular and 90 years on looks decidedly creaky, but undoubtedly has historical interest. The film was transmitted on C4 in the UK in 1994, but otherwise has been unseen in the UK since then, with no release in any format for the home market.

Very reluctantly I began to watch; Finally it was worth it. For a film made 90 years ago the scenario was quite innovative. Thanks for the upload. Greeting from Paris😊

Wonderful old movies - thank you from a new Subscriber. Incidentally , Jill Esmond was the first wife of Laurence Olivier , marrying in 1930.

Points to the Azores, turns, and says, 'A floating aerodrome is to be built.' ;-p

Ellison the famous air pilot ?...😮 What now ? Sabotage for an Atlantic Airodrome ? You would think they were going to the moon.

Not sure if I watched this properly when originally shown as have rather vague memories - will have to give it a whirl, thanks...
